A charming hotel, nicely located on the edge of the town centre. Enjoyed a warm welcome from check-in, had a few quiet drinks at the bar and found the bedrooms clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are renowned for being legendary...

Stayed in the Manor house hotel while visiting relatives and it was a totally great experience! The building is so beautiful with so much character. The location is perfect being a 2 minute walk to the town centre but just far enough away to be peaceful, staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is plentiful and of the best quality! This hotel is steeped in history and as such the rooms reflect this perfectly while being clean comfortable and warm.Would I stay here again? Oh hell yes!!

The staff were amazing, they couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. We had an early start the next day, and we were given an amazing "takeaway" breakfast for the next day. The evening dinner was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed the turbot. The only "criticism" was there too much food! Thanks to Kane, his mum, and the amazing Chef.

The Manor House has recently started serving to the public through the week and we have heard the fabulous reviews and decided to attend! All I can say is that the food, service and surroundings were absolute perfection. The food is incredible and made with such incredible ingredients, skill and talent. I thoroughly recommend to attend it really was a first class experience. The service was also brilliant and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be booking again very soon and it is a credit to Cockermouth to have somewhere that is a real fine dining experience. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Our first day here. Very nice people. Warm welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Had food in the restaurant and it was amazing. Best onion rings I've ever had !! Food was great and hot. One of my top 5 food experiences ever. Many thanks

Brief but thoroughly enjoyable stay in this lovely building in a lovely setting. Great friendly staff throughout, very comfy bed, great restaurant food dinner and breakfast, and an exquisite Malbec from the bar. I was in room 5 my colleague in room 3. I had a shower he had a bath. I prefer a bath after a long day but my room was much nicer in design and layout. Small things but overall the friendliness of the staff and the great location are what sell this hotel.

The food is consistenly excellent. We think it is the best restaurant food in Cockermouth and never had a meal here that hasn't been brilliant. The homemade bread is lovely. Quality british food. Good cocktails too. First time we have taken one of our young children as they don't have a children's menu. However, on today's visit they went out of their way to make pasta for our child that wasn't on the menu. Also do mocktails which our daughter loved.

Lovely little hotel, clean, tidy, cosy, everything you need for a good nights sleep. I stayed 2 nights on business. I didn’t dine in the evening but had breakfast on both mornings and it was excellent. Staff were superb, polite, friendly & helpful

This was our first stay here. We thought we would give it a try as it was a bit more reasonably priced than the hotel we used last time we were in Cockermouth. We had the room on the first floor looking out over the balcony above the front door. Great for keeping an eye on our car in the carpark! It was a little faded but clean and very adequate for our three night stay. We didn't eat in the restaurant other than for breakfast, but the bacon then was really excellent.
