Booked for food the last two nights. Service was amazing, food great even though it was a new menu the staff were getting used to. Thank you so much we loved

Had a superb early evening meal, The Beef Pie, Barnsley Chop, Gammon, and Steak were all very well prepared and presented, all were delicious, the staff were attentive, and made sure we had everything we wanted. It was busy so would advise booking online, to avoid disappointment.Noteworthy details: IMO the very best of the best Lakeland Villages, History, Fantastic Walks, and Great Eateries all from a friendly village hub..

We had a wonderful stay at the Crown Inn in Coniston. Diane and the team made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The hotel was busy and had a positive vibe about it. The food, drinks and accommodation were top class. My wife and I would definitely stop there again, an excellent location and we loved the two arm chairs in front of the fire.Rooms: Very clean and modern.Walkability: Ideal location for walking/hiking and good selection of shops. We visited the Ruskin Museum, well worth a visit to see Bluebird.Food & drinks: Excellent choice and very good quality.

We received a warm welcome, shown to our room, which was very cosy and had everything we needed. We had dinner at night and there was a good choice on the menu, the food we ordered was excellent and I couldn’t fault it.Rooms: Very well decorated and had all the amenities you would need for your stay.Walkability: Set in the heart of Coniston, there was a leaflet with some walks on, I was there mainly to visit the Ruskin Museum to see Blue Bird.

Had a day out Coniston to visit the museum to see the Bluebird. It was a proper miserable day weather wise, so after I’d finished at The Ruskin Museum, I went for a pint & some food. The beer battered fish & chips were spot on & washed down with a pint of Cumbria Way. Such a lovely pub & friendly staff. Everything about it had that warm Lake District feel. Ok, I might’ve stayed for a few pints!!

We were on a coach trip in the Lake District. We had a short break in Coniston to have a browse around. We were on our way home and decided to go into the Crown for a decent meal. Wow, We were not disappointed. We descended on them 20 minutes before the last orders at lunchtime. We were still made most welcome. Food and wine were excellent staff very friendly and helpful. The ambience of the pub is lovely ,spotless, and the toilets were top notch. If we lived nearer, we would be eating in there several nights of the week. I think several people off the coach did the same as us, and all said the same.Food & drinks: The king prawn salad was delicious. The scampi and chips looked good. All food being served looked very presentable.
