A lovely lunch visit for us- stopping off the Yewdale Inn for a pizza post dog walk. Excellent service and gorgeous food- make sure you get all the dips- they’re so good!

This place is so nice! When we walked in for the first time we could not have had a warmer welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. While we were enjoying our meal I listened to the staff point children to games to play, offer diners extra vegetables and gravy, chat and smile, and the food was really tasty too. We’re back for a second time because we had such a great experience. There’s a great atmosphere and a good range of food (including vegetarian options and specials).

We always enjoy our meals here when we come to stay in Coniston. The only thing that let it down on this occasion were the bar staff pestering us for wine glasses back because they had run out when our glasses were still full. The lady greeting us at the door was lovely

We booked our table in advance for Sunday Lunch at 2pm. Waitress couldn't find our table, probably because it was the smallest one in the pub squashed in between two other tables. Purchased our Sunday roast and drinks, sign at the bar advising food is taking about 45 minutes. After 50 minutes of waiting and the pub down to a few customers we enquired on our food. Waitress came back saying it would be 5 minutes. Again we waited. Eventually 65 minutes after placing our order our 2 roast dinners arrived. It was basically a bowl of gravy with a handful of vegetables and 2 roast potatoes. My husband had beef and got plenty but unfortunately it was extremely tough. The extra side of cauliflower cheese we paid for looked great but was cold in the middle. We asked about extra potatoes, we were given 2 more to share, and advised that they aware a bit short on potatoes that day. We accept that this is a very popular and busy pub, hence why we booked in advance. However by the time we got our food there were just a few tables in use. If we eat here again it will be for Pizza as they looked amazing The staff were very polite, however no apologies for lateness of food or lack of it on the plate.

We have stayed in the yewdale hotel quite a few times before and always enjoyed the food. We certainly enjoyed ourselves again and the food was as good as it has always been. We will be going back again and hopefully dining at the Yewdale.
