Wow, wow & more wow. The most beautiful setting for a cafe EVER!!The views were breathtaking over Coniston Water to the Coniston Old Man. Super helpful & friendly staff. They appear to grow all their own veg & salad. We both had a Ham & Cheese sandwich in delicious bread, with a gorgeous home grown salad. Chunky Ham & strong mature cheddar & Chips (someone there knows how to cook chips!!! ).We ordered our food & had a walk down to Coniston water (5 mins down a track behind the cafe), the dogs had a paddle & by the time we returned our food was ready for us.This is our first visit here BUT won’t be our last. Thankyou, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.Apparently they have self catering accommodation to rent too. Can’t review as didn’t go inside them but we’d love to stay there, those views!!!!

Lovely setting, great staff, wonderful food. They don't ram the Ransome connection down your throat, but it's perfect for Swallows & Amazon aficionados. One thing to watch is that the entrance drive is steep and not metalled, ie rough!

Amazing steak ciabatta with caramelised onion and chips, tender meat. Salad was crisp and fresh. Will come again when we are up this way again

Driven out of Brantwood by the crowds.Peaceful oasis just down the road lovely food and charming friendly ladies in charge. Step round the far corner of the house for one of the finest views anywhere. Swallows and Amazons for ever!

Walked to the restaurant from Coniston, some lovely views while having scone and tea. Friendly owners who came to chat. Well worth a visit.

A place to go ONLY if you have money to burn. Standard of food IS SO OVER PRICED. Perhaps some of that profit should go to resurfacing the drive that leads to the cafe. Shocking! We should have went with my first impression and left, gone somewhere else. Never again!

Absolutely loved this place. The location is stunningly beautiful. We went in half term when the weather was 22 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We had the special of lamb cutlets, seasonal salad with hallumi and a kids sausage and chips. Chips were proper home cooked chips. Wine selection was also great. Highly highly recommed.
Stunning restaurant on the banks of Coniston Water. It’s famous for appearing in the Swallows and Amazons film.Food was superb. We had sandwiches and they were incredibly tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful.Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and that view….

Beautiful location. Shame it's let down. Waiting for lunch. Waited over an hour and a half. They ran out of food and staff although trying their best were not overly helpful. Prices are shameful given portion sizes.
