Walked here (about 40 mins) in the aftermath of The Great Cumbrian Snowstorm slipping and sliding on the icy road. The Terrace had been closed for four days due to the snow, but its website said it was reopening that day. What it didn't tell us was that there was no food! Bit of a chat with a friendly waitress and she conceded that she could do two toasted teacakes. The were the worst teacakes of my long life (I'm 78). Have visited this coffee shop nearly every year for the last 20 years. Recently renovated a back room for more space.Good cakes and coffee. Great view of the Old Man of Coniston. One of my favourite places to visit.Parking: Next to Brantwood, Ruskin's house.
