Booked 2 x nights bed and breakfast, but only stayed for one. Room was cold due to the radiator not working. It was eventually sorted when evening staff came in......a bit of a knack to opening the valve apparently. The internal bathroom was pokey with no extractor fan and wallpaper bubbled with chipped basin and skirting boards. On the plus side, the room had a fabulous view of the bay. The food was good....wine very expensive and the staff, Jay and Karl were lovely. Very helpful and polite. Needs updating.

Lovely Christmas meal with my family. Very accommodating of my crazy 4 year old running around. Made him pasta and garlic bread as he wouldn't eat a Christmas meal. Food was lovely, staff were amazing and a great view for while we ate

Commodore Inn Stay I stayed overnight with a friend. The Inn is lovely, and the staff are fantastic and go above and beyond. We had the roast dinner, which was really delicious and full filling. My friend had the turkey, and I had the beetroot Wellington. Both option options were tasty. The room was lovey with a huge window with a great view. Breakfast was special and plentiful. I would recommend the Commodore Inn

What an absolute disgrace. The room hadn’t been cleaned. Had to change 3 times. Rooms are terrible and you can feel all the springs in the mattress. You would get a better sleep on a gravel car park. Rooms stink and are freezing. Then you pay over the top for food. The salad you get is nice and brown instead of being green. It’s only about about 10 days old. £54.89 is a rip off for the state of the food. Avoid the hotel and the foodNoteworthy details: Rooms are toilet

Stayed at The Commodore for 1 night with the expectation of an evening meal. The room was available immediately, which was unusual. We booked it for the view, which was not disappointing, however the amount of flies in the window was. The sink was cracked in the bathroom, the tap was swinging, the shower curtain was filthy and the light in the hallway entrance wasn’t working. The bed was cheap and you could feel the insides in your back. The paperwork said there was hot chocolate from the local chocolatier, fair trade wasn’t the local chocolatier. My partner had to swat all the flies in the window and clean everything before we could settle down. We went down for an evening meal which was appalling. I didn’t think places like this existed anymore. The guy sat at the table who was watching everything who kept running up and down the stairs? I presume was the manager. Can’t you see what is wrong with the place. Unfortunately it’s a stunning location with so much potential.

Further to comments made by Eric D re our recent stay. We spent 4 nights in the Crow's Nest comprising a single and a double bedroom and a bathroom. Strangely, there was no door to the double room. We came to an arrangement where I made myself scarce whilst Eric and his wife showered etc and vice versa. Fortunately, we're good friends! Frustratingly, we couldn't access the internet in our rooms and had to go down to the bar to get any sort of internet connection. Cleaning the skylight in the hallway occasionally wouldn't go amiss either. Whilst we appreciated that the Crow's Nest wasn't expensive and that some issues couldn't be resolved immediately, we still expected the problems that could be solved (shower curtain and light bulb) would be during our stay.

Stayed at the Commodore for 4 nights, DBB, the bar was welcoming, staff very helpful, hotel clean. Food and drink very good, albeit dinner was a good plateful, and as we're getting on a bit, did prove too much at times, but reasonable quality. Now for the accommodation, unfortunately not as good as expected, whilst a very good price for B&B, the room had some problems. Firstly it should be said that the staff were informed of these faults, who promised to inform "management". Light in the hall way, needed an new bulb, shower curtain needed replacing, been too long in water becoming discoloured. Cold tap very wobbly, needed tightening before something worse happens. Toilet seat needs fixing. During our first night, lots of banging, which I eventually found to be a loose upper sash window, stopped the banging with beer mats, but that made a gap between the to sash sections, talk about drafty and cold, and let the flies in! Tried to stop the draft with a towel, see picture. After our first night we were out for the day, returned to find that our room was not serviced. Response from staff was to the effect that we had not left out the "clean my room sign" problem was, we didn't have one, once we got one no problems. A bit of TLC would be helpful, the room was clean though, and the bed comfortable.

The Comodore Inn requires a complete refurbishment tables and chairs have all seen better days. Decoration is old and cold. Food is overpriced and a very limited menu. If you are desperate for food it will tick the box. However plenty better places. OK for a pub poor for food.

Lovely food and lovely staff, so friendly and accommodating. Food came fast and was piping hot! The portion sizes were huge too

Awful place, in fact the worse I’ve ever stayed in. On arrival the staff couldn’t tell us when our room was going to be ready, also couldn’t explain how the car park worked. The stairs going up to our room were filthy, the carpet in the corridor was also filthy and thread bare. Our tiny room …….. the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, there was thick dust on the shelf above the clothes hanger, only one bedside lamp. The shower was very hit and miss, turned itself off and the temperature would keep changing. It’s safe to say, we will never be returning. The only plus side was, the evening meals and breakfast were excellent.

We go to the commodore regularly but won't be going again for a while. Went last weekend and if you like Flies with your food your in luck cos there's hundreds of them. Disgusting. A few years ago they had the same problem and had to get a firm in to get rid of them. Come on Commodore get your act together.

Visited last time in between lockdown, came back so was worth a second visit, they managed to fit us all in (group of 12), food and service was a good, they were very busty as it was the bank holiday

Disappointing. Unfortunately the place needs a good clean. The table was so sticky my arm stuck to it. I had sausage, mash, peas, gravy. It was tasty and hot, sausages were peppery but very tasty. Comfort food. It’s just a shame that the lack of cleanliness overshadowed the quality of the food. Staff seemed very busy.
