Just had another wonderful meal with friends at The Pheasant. Surf & Turf, Cumberland Sausage, Beef Rendang and Vegetable Balti. Both curries were absolute knockout! Everyone happy, four empty plates and with two full rounds of drinks, came in just about £30 per head. The Jones Family & Co, consistently smashing it out of the park. Top Bananas!!

Just had a wonderful meal here this evening. Didn't book but they had a table free. Excellent staff great service and the food was fabulous. Thank you.

We had a lovely meal at The Pheasant. The menu catered for all requirements and the food that came was delicious. The main thing we enjoyed about the evening was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They were very accommodating and made us feel so welcome. I'd definitely recommend this pub to anyone looking for some good food. Thank you!

Portions are so small and sadly very overpriced. Never paid that much at a restaurant and when leaving still feeling hungry. You need customers - either give bigger portions or change your prices to reflect how small your portions are.

Went on Sunday 26th November, the whole place in and out was wonderfully festive, as usual a warm welcome from the staff, and the owners who we regard as friends after many years of visiting this lovely pub, food was excellent, fillet steak was amazing as were all the trimmings, Ham, egg, chips and peas delicious, definitely recommend a visit!! Very disappointed, been here several times and always had a decent meal. This time Sunday lunch plus burger and chips and one starter. Battered chip shop sausages for the starter at £9 was two of the smallest sausages with a dipping sauce and token greens. Sunday lunch was tiny , I had to hunt for the burger in the bun and when I asked for some more chips as I could count them on my fingers that were served. I was presented with a bill for an extra portion. When I complained and refused to pay the extra bill , my words just fell on deaf ears. Was not interested in hearing it. Such a shame hopefully a one off but a poor experience.

Very friendly pub with great food at good prices. Home made pie in particular was superb. We sat in the bar area which was dog friendly. Staff were great and very helpful.

Called in as it was the first pub that looked welcoming, after coming from Chester, visiting a nearby garage to test drive a car. Was really glad to have found it. Melissa Jo was kind enough to find me a table to dine alone where I wouldn’t feel too uncomfortable; something most restaurants overlook but it was really appreciated. The food was great and Melissa Jo ensured I had what I needed and was able to settle up quickly before being on my way. A great experience, I’ve already recommended the place to colleagues who live nearby. Hospitality is still suffering the after effects of covid, with many places unable to recruit good people. I’ve experienced this in too many eateries of late. However, Melissa Jo was a fantastic asset to The Pheasant and seemed to enjoy her work which was a joy to see in the current climate. Thanks for a great meal and outstanding service!

Another tip from a local! Used the conservatory which we believe is for adults only. Really good service, enjoyed our dinner and the real ale on offer went down a treat. Had the pie of the day, thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Pheasant.

Had an excellent £17.50 set lunch. The choice was plentiful with something to suit all tastes. The portions were just the right size and the quality of the food was very high. Excellent, friendly service from all the staff made for a perfect afternoon.

Brilliant cosy setting. Dog friendly (!), although there is a dog free area too. Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended !

Went for lunch, for a Tuesday it was busy and after eating I can understand why, the service and food were spot on and well worth the visit, we will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Came here for a spot of lunch as there was many good reviews. The food was nice but tiny portions and really overpriced!! We ordered a panini but it wasn’t a panini that came it was a little roll, which left us disappointed as we weren’t informed of this. Fish and chips were £10:99 and absolutely tiny!! We won’t be back!!

Brilliant owner and staff team. On arrival, they already knew where we were dining and asked if we had booked a taxi. Which we hadn't! The staff spent the next few hours trying to book us one, which they did.We ate a small lunch but so enjoyed the banter from the staff we stayed in the lounge for wine.Lunch was delicious as I like black pudding but both starters were cooked to our liking. Both lunch and dinner settings were very well attended so testament to how good the food is. The staff seemed to know all their names which is nice.Cannot thank the owner and staff for the reception we were given and the room was fab.Photoes to come.

We were lucky to have a lovely meal here during our holiday in the Lake District. It came recommended to us and I'm so glad we went! From me booking to us leaving, the service was fantastic! Good range of gluten free choices for my daughter who is coeliac. Lovely food and great, friendly staff!
