We live in Kendal and had family come from Worsley to visit so we booked a table for 5 at The Sun where we were made so welcome ? it seemed to be quite busy but you wouldn’t think so as the 2 ladies serving us were fab the food was amazing especially the black pudding with a ducks egg and the homemade tomato soup. Thank you

Absolutely lovely, food good. The lady that served was very welcoming and friendly and so were the local gents. I enjoyed my birthday meal on Wednesday March 6th.

Where do I start..... what word do I use to describe the fantastic food and super friendly staff. The food is THE best in the area.We drive past every time we come to the lakes and often think we would love to stop by for food and drink and never had the opportunity. However, today, we purposely made plans and reserved a table, and I am so glad we did.Everything about this gorgeous, rustic pub is endearing. The low beamed ceilings and open fires draw a deep comfort after a long muddy walk, and the excellent food and ales are warming and delicious. We are definitely going to make this a regular stop when we return to the area. The staff work super hard to make sure you have a delightful stay.

Called in for roast beef on a Sunday, having had several really good meals here previously. The food was served on cold plates and was luke warm; the beef not fully cooked either. Could do better myself and I'm not a good cook.

Fantastic pub, the staff are so welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We have eaten here 3 times now and the food has always been great. Our last visit was on Sunday so we had the sunday roast and it was lovely. My hubby said it was one of the best he's had which is a huge compliment as he normally says mine are the best. Can't fault this place. We love it

Lovely cosy inn, lovely home made hearty food and a nice atmosphere. Dog friendly, made a massive fuss of our dog. They have a help yourself dog basket with bowls, biscuits and blankets inFood was lovely. We both had a burger, partners was GF so minus the bun then we both had sticky toffee pudding. Again gluten free available so nice for him to have that. Decent portion sizes, burger was homemade, lovely thick and juicy. Toffee pudding was lovely too. Next time we’ll try one of the specials on the board. Prices were great too for the area as we’ve been to previous places and they charge an arm and a leg for meals!

First but definitely not the last visit to this quaint country pub. The lady behind the bar was 1st class. Food is very tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.
