A lovely hotel with fabulous wooden staircase and panelling in the bar area. The rooms have a high-end feel, well decorated to a high standard throughout. Fantastic breakfast with plenty of choice. Very helpful staff. Will definitely visit again.Food & drinks: Excellent quality food, but watch those hotel prices!

We had a wonderful experience this weekend. The rooms are beautiful - we even had two red squirrels feeding on the bird feeders outside our room. The food is top notch and the staff are all excellent. There is a superb walk to Dodd Fell direct from the hotel which is well worth doing. Can’t wait to return.

Nothing but good things to say about Ravenstone Manor, room 9 was very large, very comfy bed, walk in shower plus a bath, evening meal was spot on, lovely breakfast, staff friendly, bar and lounge lovely room with a view plus the snug with open fire, all dog friendly, Belfast sink to rinse dogs off, designated poo bin, really is dog friendly. Hotel in great location so well worthy of full marks. My only criticism was ripping my puffa jacket on the rose bushes as I got my bags out of the boot ( so beware )

Lovely hotel. We stayed in the Trusmadoor cottage immediately next to the hotel for a little more privacy. Very dog friendly - not just a token gesture. Dogs are welcome in the restaurant, lounge and public areas. There’s also a warm dog wash, sheltered under a porch at the front of the building. Hotel is excellent but we wouldn’t choose the restaurant again. Menu looks really good and the prices are reasonable but we found the food to be average. Again, overall the hotel and accommodation is excellent and highly recommended.

Hard to put into words really. I'd say the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Fantastic (& beautiful) location, incredibly hospitable and friendly staff. Completely smitten. Outstanding breakfast and evening food as well. The cosy, comfortable atmosphere is priceless and the dog friendly environment is great (we had very well behaved ones staying at the same time as us). My only 'complaint' is that the bed in our room wasnt very comfortable and almost felt like it was starting to collapse on one side. Not put me off though, already booked a stay in the new year!Rooms: Cosy. Warm and clean.Food & drinks: Great range of food and drink. The food we had was exlempary, worth the price for sure. Moretti on tap!Noteworthy details: Great decor, classy and dog friendly. Loved the evening country music playlist around the lounge.

Beautiful place overlooking the lake and mountains stunning scenery. The manor is decorated and furnished to a very high standard and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone, and the food is excellent. The bar is very well stocked too.The staff are fantastic, everyone is friendly, and helpful. There are no negatives with this place at all.We were there for a 70th birthday, and it was a very memorable enjoyable trip.Everything about this place is just perfect.

We stayed just one night, we were just touring round for a few days. Met up with some family in Keswick and had a meal. The Hotel is really good beautiful inside and out. Good size room with a super comfy bed. Breakfast is a treat, with great bacon, superb sausage and a really good cup of coffee. Oh and tea for my good lady. Inside the decor is superb old worldly and could be used in a film. See photosJust near a lake and 5 miles from Keswick. Great views from our bedroom I sat there having a coffee and looking out across the hills. Well worth a visit.

Lovely character Lakeland hotel, very cozy lounge and bar areas. Spotlessly clean room. Couldn't fault the food it was delicious, one of the best roast beef dinners I've had. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Super dog friendly . Can't wait to return.

Just got home after 3 nights at Ravenstone Manor. Weather diabolic but hotel warm and welcoming and away from the usual multitudes found in the Lakes. Despite two days of rain and gales thoroughly enjoyable. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Room, 5, although no view of the lake very spacious and comfortable and couldn't see the lake anyway due to the weather. Would definitely recommend the hotel for a friendly home from home in a quieter area.

All staff helpful. Good car parking. Excellent breakfast & dinner. Stayed two days, first day we ate dinner and had to fast the next day too full. Tried the local bus service into Keswick then to Buttermere, on return to Keswick asked the bus driver if the X5 stopped at our hotel, said yes which it did not and was stranded in Embleton, 5.5 miles away, bus service was erratic, no taxis. Phoned our hotel to see if there was any taxi service in the area, time 7:30pm (dark and rainy) Charlie Mawsdley (owner) answered and picked both of us and dog to return us to the hotel. What a kind hearted Guy! Could not thank him enough. His other hotels are noted for any other breaks we take.

Absaloutley amazing stay from start to finish. I cannot find one thing to fault about this hotel & the staff. We stayed for 1 night in Room 1 (deluxe double). When booking I asked for a room with a bath as myself and my husband where doing a 6 hour hike and wanted a soak! The team sorted this without a problem. I also asked if they could arrange any balloons as it was my husband's 30th. The staff went above and beyond with this, it was stunning. Black, gold and confetti balloons (LOTS), banners and a big 30 balloon. Just beautiful that the team took the time to do this for us. The hotel and room are spotlessly clean. The food is unbelievable, we had a 3 course evening meal and breakfast in the morning. We didn't wait long for anything and the food was freshly cooked and amazing. We could ask for fresh milk and anything extra we needed for our room at reception. There was a an area for your muddy boots after a hike and the hotel is super dog friendly which I loved. Bed was so comfy, shower was fab and very nice toiletries. The hotel itself has so many beautiful qualities I could of stayed in the lounge and the snug looking at all it's quirks forever! The list goes on, it was honestly fab from start to finish and we can't wait to come back again!

We stayed for two nights in a family room (9) and can’t fault the hotel. Proper third bed (no fold out or sofa bed) very spacious room, excellent amenities and really well appointed. The hotel retains all its Victoria charm but has clearly had an excellent refurbishment and feels opulent and cosy. Best of all we’re the staff, happy to chat and always happy to help, they were superb. Hotel accommodation across the Lakes is so hit and miss but this hotel has got it right - we’ll definitely be back. Dog friendly too with direct access to the Skiddaw range and easy short drive to Keswick.
