Stayed for one night for a whistle-stop visit to the Lakes, followed by football at Fleetwood. The hotel is ideally suited for both, as well as the Yorkshire Dales and Kirby Lonsdale is a very pretty village. Parking isn’t great in the town, with only 1 hour permitted between 8am and 6:30pm. We arrived at just after 6:30 pm and managed to find the last space around the corner with both car parks nearby full. I moved the car in the morning and got one of the few spaces remaining in the Market Square. The Red Dragon was great to stay in and we were very happy with the room and the provision of extras such as water, biscuits and a fan. Slept well, although the duvet was a little thick for me in the summer. The only real downside was that the water was barely warm in the morning and too cold to bath or shower so really I should have reduced my rating but hoping this was a one-off as not mentioned before. Sky Sports in the room would have been nice too. Food in the bar was good, pretty basic, but ticked our boxes and breakfast was good too. . We would definitely stay again to use as a base for exploring the area.

Following a wander through Kirkby Lonsdale, choose the Red Lion for family gathering of 8.\\nChoose various dishes from menu, including 2 children's meals. Each and every meal was freshly cooked and gorgeous. Good sized portions, with most ingredients locally sourced and well presented. The actual interior of this pub is also absolutely stunning, spotless and decorated tastefully. A most enjoyable unplanned lunch!!

We stay regularly at the Red Dragon. The manager and his dog Milly are very welcoming. The lady that looks after you for breakfast is fabulous (always a treat available for the doggy). The food is great too, cooked by the very friendly Polish chef.Rooms are 5* and clean. Was very hot last night so the fan in the room was a great thought. The only place we stay in Kirkby ?

A really lovely place to stay very clean and an exceptional room very big and lovely touchs added, the good choice of teas coffees , shortbread yummy The room was very nice and very spacious, big windows comfy bed and really nice decor, very reasonably priced. Breakfast amazing lots of choice and credit to the lady serving, although run off her feet she was still joyful. This is a place I would stay again.

We had booked a dog friendly room to stay for two nights, 12th and 13th June. I cannot recall the name of the room we were given, but it began with an M. When I entered the room for the first of time, it was like walking into a sauna. There was only two small top windows which could be opened, and the room, being south facing and looking onto a courtyard, was a heat trap. I hoped that when night fell, the room would cool down, but this proved not to be the case. My wife and I barely slept a wink, and our dog was panting to the extent I had to give him a cold shower. The electric fan did not make any difference - it simply circulated the hot air. Our dog was ill the following morning due to the hot room, so we went home. This room should not be used during a heat wave.

Great pub in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale serving some great food that caters for all tastes and appetites. The menu is varied, but nice and compact and there are some really tasty options. There is a good selection of wines and beers (but the real ale selection is quite restricted). This is a very popular place and does get very busy at peak times.I'd recommend booking a table ahead of time, or eat later when the rush has died down.Great staff here. Always service with a smile

Booked a meal at The Red Dragon as an anniversary treat for my wife, looked at a few other menus of eateries nearby but plumped for here… and it did not disappoint !!Lovely pub with food served piping hot and quickly followed by a lovely dessert.Competitively priced but the service from the staff was superb. All in all 5 stars for the whole experience. We are back in the area in September and will definitely be dining here again then.

A group meal for 25 booked on a Saturday evening for 1930hrs.Unfortunately we had to phone and request the booking be pushed to 2030hrs as some members of the group were still finishing the Yorkshire 3 peaks. We had pre ordered all our food and it was a mixture of meals across the whole menu. The whole group was very satisfied. The food was all hot, and delicious. We had gluten free members, vegans and other individual requests on our pre orders which were all suitable catered for.Overall a great experience for the whole group.Special thankyou to Sebastian for the emails and over the phone organisation.Peter hosted us on the evening and was welcoming, charismatic and witty.Food & drinks: Great food and drinks.Good prices, good portions and good value for money.

The breakfast was excellent and the 'full English' was presented with pea shoots. As they say, you eat with your eyes. The room was tasteful, the bed comfortable, the shower superb, the reception and restaurant service were faultless. Thank you.

stayed here last night on overnight on way from south of england back to scotland. Kirkby Lonsdale is a lovely little town with lots of pubs, restuarants, fabulous butcher shop, bakers and lots of unusual gift shops. The people are so friendly. The hotel was superb with friendly staff most comfortable bed and great breakfast and evening meal with locally sourced produce. Chef presented breakfast and evening meal beautifully even although it was pub food. Best pub grub i have ever had. Their was a great atmosphere in the pub

Took my Mum and Sister for a run and discovered this gem of a place on our travels! Well...what can I say! The food was delicious ? and the staff were lovely! We didn't stay over but I'm going to put this on my favourite places for future travels ?. There was a great selection of food and even though they were out of Brandy for my Mum, it didn't spoil it haha. I especially recommend the burgers ? ?
