If you’re used to a fancy pants purpose built gastro pub for dining out, then prepare yourself for a change. This is a genuine tidy local pub with great food and friendly staff. The selection of beers is great too.I took my wife and kids and loved it, we would have stayed all night if we hadn’t had to put the kids to bed.We shall be returningKid-friendliness: The boys were made welcome and staff talked to them.

We visit Millom every year around the my birthday and we always visit this pub because we always have pleasant experiences. We ate here last night and the steak was delicious. Really flavourful! Chips where crispy on the outside - I have no complaints. My partner got the steak & mushroom pie which he enjoyed too. Lovely staff and will probably go there to eat again this evening ?Beer garden is big too - shame about the weather ☔️Not the best photos as I took off my onion rings & mushrooms and put them on my partners plate as I don’t eat either.? I only took a photo once I’d started eating to send to my mum ?

We did not stay in rooms here but had the unfortunate experience of having an evening meal here recently. The cheese and onion pie would have been palatable if not for the slimy piece of 'plastic cheese' on top of the pastry (why?) I was given frozen vegetables but the broccoli was overcooked and carrot was hard (how?) and the mash was bland packet potato with no seasoning whatsoever. The poor waitress....who was lovely by the way....had the good grace to look embarrassed when she brought our gravy out in a plastic kitchen jug and left it on the table for us. The gravy was granules...not a problem in my eyes....but it was very lumpy. I don't know if it was an "off "night but they were not busy, just two couples. The staff were lovely but even that would not entice us to ever go back there again!

Well placed for a pint, has a big beer garden which is dog friendly but no indoor or undercover dog friendly area, which is a shame but I do understand why.

Only stopped for 1 drink as no dogs allowed and cash only, very quiet whilst we were there

We had a lovely 2 course meal, although there was an option of 1 or 3 courses also. We had the Sunday lunch and there were several options for dessert. The staff were really welcoming too. I would recommend the Harbour Hotel for families too.
