We arrived here, having walked out of a nearby cafe in disgust . We were warmly welcomed, shown to a table and our drinks order was taken straight away. The place was warm and comfortable on a chilly day outside. The food, which was served piping hot arrived quickly. The portion sizes were enormous and the price very reasonable. As visitors to Penrith, I am glad we found the Board and Elbow, otherwise we would have left with a very bad impression of the town after our initial experience.

Was in town on work. This place was nearby and we stopped in for a game of darts. Very nice yesterday olde type pub with very friendly patrons. Just needs a pool table for 5 stars ?, although we enjoyed the darts. Didn't sample any food so can't comment.

First time in Penrith and I couldn't make a better choice for a pub dinner. Friendly atmosphere, price/size ratio is superb, good selection of international beers. The bartender and waiting team are friendly and very quick with the service. As you'll see from the photos, the portions are big and plenty, a bountiful amount of food. Taste and quality seem to be at home for this chef.I like the interior particularly, some interesting mix of modern and old flooring and lighting.By far, if you come to Penrith this is a must.Vegetarian options: They have a couple of vegetarian options on the menu.Kid-friendliness: Music is not loud at all and the crowd isn't rowdy.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a door with a ramp

I thought this was a good pub. We stopped off for lunch and I had the burger and chips with a pint of wainwright, the food was a bit portion and tasted pretty good. A nice place if you want food in penrith.
