Popped in for a coffee and the display of cakes was very enticing. Inside they had a further selection so we were spoilt for choice. The scones were fresh out of the oven and were delicious. Coffee could be a little warmer for me given I'd asked for hot milk.

Superb breakfast and excellent service. As you can see from the photo even Alan Partridge wouldn't find fault. Clean toilets. Dog friendly. Free WiFi. Superb coffee.

Arrived at lunchtime. The place was almost empty; only four other customers After politely interruptinging the conversation taking place between the two memebers of staff at the counter we were asked to take a table and a menu would be brought to us. The place was so cold that we had to keep our coats on. The lighting was very poor and the place was drab and run down. After waiting for twenty minutes, getting colder by the minute, and still no menu we decided to leave and find a more welcoming place to eat. As we passed the counter the two staff members were still heavily engaged in conversation. In fact I don't even think they noticed we were leaving. Clearly customers are an inconvenience to them

Warm cosy and very friendly cafe. We were on our way home on a Sunday and we needed a hot drink and a bite to eat, shining like a beacon we found this little gem off the main street. Although we were late on a Sunday we were made super welcome. Their freshly made sandwiches were so tasty and had really generous fillings. Whenever we are back in Penrith we will always stop by here, definitely recommend you do too!

Absolutely Fab cafe, I can't believe we haven't stepped foot in sooner! Wanted a hearty breakfast before heading to the lake district for a hike and they did not disappoint! Huge breakfast menu you will be spoiled for choice. Amazing breakfast, generous portions, great coffee. Tried a chai latte for the first time and it was lovely and we were pleasantly surprised to find haggis on the menu which my partner had, also tasted amazing! Also noticed a great selection of cakes which I will definitely be coming back for. ?

An elegantly appointed well thought out Bistro that came as a very pleasant surprise, the Staff were very warm and welcoming even though we commited the cardinal sin of arriving just before closing time (Sorry Guys!) the menu is varied with something there for everyone, the quality of the food was faultless and they did not stint on the quantity that was served. We will most definitley be returning there in the future, although we will endeavour to be a little more considerate the next time. One final noteworthy item is the scones that they serve there are amongst the best I have ever tasted, if you do eat here, do yourself a favour and treat yourself to one. truly an experience worthy of sharing

What a find! Tired after busy day's shopping, we turned down a back street and saw Chapter 12 coffee shop. After a quick perusal of the menu I chose soup of the day which came with freshly cut sour dough bread for £5.80 which I thought was a reasonable price. When it arrived the portion was very large and turned out to be filling and absolutely delicious so I shared with my husband. I then ordered an apple and toffee cake for afters which came heated and once again was delicious. My husband had a ginger cake which he enjoyed. There were lots of vegetarian options and a nice welcoming atmosphere. All was clean and tidy and the staff were attentive. Free WiFi. Can't fault this as a place to eat and unwind. It's much larger inside than it looks outside. As we paid our bill, one of the male staff (manager?) offered us 4 free scones to take away with us! He carefully wrapped them in foil. We ate them later and they were lovely. Thoroughly recommend Chapter 12.
