Always a pleasure when ordering online or on the phone. Food always tastes great whether its tandoori dishes, dupiaza or madras. Sat in a couple of times in the past and staff always good to you.

Excellent Indian Food. We were staying as a family at the nearby Centerparcs and just fancied a change for food options so ventured into Penrith. There wasn’t a great deal happening on a Wednesday night but found Raj by chance. Very warm welcome and very helpful staff helped me choose a takeaway for 3 people. In brief, the food was really good, very large portions and the flavours were outstanding. I had a saag chicken Madras and it left a wonderful heat in the mouth that wasn’t overpowering. We also had a vegetable balti and a butter chicken. In addition, it was, at the current time, really great value for money so thank you very much everyone at the Raj !!! Would definitely go back.

Our first time here, (only in penrith for the night), but I'm so glad we found the raj, brilliant friendly service from Russell and staff. Lovely fresh poppadoms and the mix platter starter was great, however, the main courses were even better, the house special was wonderful and is very recommended.

We don't eat a lot of takeaway food, but we're so glad we visited this place. We ordered chicken biryani and it was fabulous! Very good portions for the price and the service was quick and efficient with very polite staff. We will be going back for sure ??

Have been to the Raj previously and was really impressed with food and service. However today as a party of 6 we had a terrible experience and will never return. Waited 90 minutes for food - when it arrived it was cold, there was a skin on the butter chicken which they said was usual for butter chicken. They microwaved the food and brought it back but forgot our naan breads and rice which arrived after we had finished our curries. No apology, no explanations. When we left we also realised they had overcharged us for drinks. Such a shame - I know things don't always go right but an apology is often all that is required
