Bit of a queue at 6pm on a Saturday but worth the wait for nicely cooked cod and chips.

Literally the best Chip Shop we’ve ever been to! Well worth the 100 mile trip to the village! We were the last order on a Sunday evening and the food quality was amazing! Would seriously recommend!

Super food, friendly staff.. that's why it one of the best chippys in the country...Edit, 8/12/23.Visit again today. Sadly, I was not happy with the food I received.. I paid for a large fish £8.20?? regular chips and a smoky sausage £5.40???.. I felt the fish was no bigger than a regular (I've had bigger regular size fish at other chippy's for less money), and the smoked sausage was just not worth the money.. Spending nearly £20 and the portion I received, I was not happy.. I've received bigger portions for half the money at other chippy's...Finally, I was not impressed that you are card payments only. We need to be using cash as much as possible, or we are going to lose it.. Cash is king (as they say)..

Gorgeous chips as was the pea fritter (never had one before) basically it's battered mushy peas ?. We visited on a very cold Dec evening (-4°C) and the hot food was much needed. We would definitely return when in the

Great fish, really well cooked. It was quiet, the only people eating in, but the take-away side was busy.Parking: Across the road or near the school about 50m down the road.

Cracking chippy! Veggie options aplenty - including pea fritters, samosas, halloumi spring rolls and other options beyond usual chippy fare. Everything was delicious and portions are generous for the price (we shared between 3 of us and it was less than £30 all in). The great food and clean kitchen is topped off with very friendly service :) All in all, the perfect place to fuel up for a weekend chasing Wainwrights!
