Our ‘go to’ cafe in Penrith for lunch. We particularly enjoy the homemade steak pie veg and chip potatoes and vegetarian quiche, salad & chip potatoes. We’re always made welcome and enjoy our meals. Thank you!

First Tuesday in November, my trip to Keswick stymied by unexpected change in Bus timetable (new departure time 9am, previously 9.15am). Had an hour to kill so popped into town for a coffee ... "The Lemon Tree". Decided to have the reasonably priced "smaller" breakfast: 3 thickish (dry cured style) rashers of bacon, a large fried egg and sizable meaty sausage + large tomato & nice tasting tomato sauce. ... terrific! Absolutely loved it! Will definitely make a point of going back there for breakfast in future.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to see the menu contained items that obviously had some effort put into them - like the homemade sausages on the full breakfast, absolutely delicious!I think I have just found my new regular breakfast stop.

Stopped off here for lunch on way home to Scotland, having good memories of this cafe from a visit several years ago. We were glad to find that it was still open and serving a wide variety of meal and snack options including lots of gluten free choices which pleased my husband who has coeliac disease. Fresh home-made food at excellent prices, and licensed too!

Excellent breakfast at a halfway point on a trip to Scotland, well worth the 10 minute diversion from the motorway. Cafe was surprisingly quiet for such a good breakfast, plenty of regulars were chatty with the owner.
