Pubs • “Wednesday 16th August 2023. Excellent service. Good food. Great atmosphere.It was quite busy and only 2 front of house staff in attendance. However, the service was excellent and very efficient. The menu choices are great and the food was very nice. The pub has a great atmosphere and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The 2 staff were so efficient and friendly and worked incredibly hard to keep everything going. We couldn't fault this pub in any way. Highly recommended ?.”

“This pub is fantastic on all fronts. Lovely, well kept, and very clean. It has a lovely atmosphere catering for all ages and is dog friendly. The menu , offered weekly, focuses on locally produced food, including venison from Grizedale and beef from adjoining farms. There is a good choice for persons with allergies or vegan by choice.”

“We stayed one night here before walking the Cumbria Way. We were made extremely welcome and they made a fuss of our dog. The rooms are slightly dated but spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent and they made us a packed lunch for later. I would have no hesitation recommending it.”
