Old Friends is a little off the town centre so comes across very much as a local pub. It has a very cosy main bar, complete with real fire, but as it is rather small we were relegated to the room next door which is smart, but feels a bit like ….. well, a room really. It was pleasant enough, but with no atmosphere, hardly anyone else there, and only a hint of the cheerful hubbub coming from the bar, it felt a tad flat. Great little local pub,often overlooked by visitors to Ulverston. It serves good ale with real fires in winter and a good beer garden that gets the sun in summer.Definitely worth a visit.

We've been to the Old Friends several times & most recently we called in yesterday & spent a pleasant couple of hours in the beer garden. It was a lovely sunny afternoon, good selection of beers for the drinkers.
