I go there in my first time trip in last week. I spend 2 hours and take some beer with my partner. We really enjoy the time. I'll come here again.

Fab place , amazing food . I think anything you would choose from the menu would be great . So dog friendly our 12 year old staffie Eric was spoilt rotten with bacon and cuddles x

Despite being a ageing grumpy and fussy old fart I have become accustomed to using TripAdvisor to search for places to eat around the location I am in. The review status and the mention of Craft beer was enough to hook me! Well believe the hype and more, in short if you find yourself in Bowness on Windermere this is an absolute must. The Beer choice is excellent and the small menu carefully considered wonderfully fresh and beautifully presented was a delight. Prawn and Chorizo Tacos Spicy chicken Tacos and my daughter ( a gastropub Chef) had a bacon and halloumi roll. All where delicious. Then to round everything off the Staff are absolutely wonderful really welcoming and cheerful genuinely lovely people. We enjoyed it so much we headed straight back two days later when another guest had joined our party only to find the manager, had decided to do a stock take and clean up and give the staff a well deserved day off after a very hectic summer season (nice boss) Amazingly we were greeted with a sincere apology and the offer to sample a couple more beers and then we were allowed to purchase a good selection of cans to take back to our accommodation. That was truly above and beyond real old fashioned customer service of the highest order. So yes the reviews are true and well deserved just GO! THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE AT THE FANTASTIC FOLK TAP

Must give this place a try! Such a great small menu that is quality over quantity!I had the Korean BBQ chicken strips and Shake Fries! Honestly incredible! Great sauce! Really nice Garden Cocktail too.My partner had the chicken bao buns and jerk fries absolutely loved it! Absolutely reeling over the buns! The beers on tap were delicious too!

Went for a spot of lunch - 4 adults and 3 under 6’s - drawn initially by the promise of a nice craft beer but it far surpassed that! The beer was great and the food was simply out of this world, real unique experience to have such lovely Korean inspired food just off the main run through Bowness. But the main reason to visit here was the owners and staff - they couldn’t have been more accommodating, pleasant and helpful. Immediately identifying the challenges of dining out with young kids though their own experience - offered activities for them to do whilst the adults ate and drank. The kids menu was spot on too. They even gave advice of other establishments to visit with he kids in mind. The highest praise possible from us all This isn’t a 5/5 - this is a 10/5 place. Real gem of the Lake District and passionate owners and staff make the difference!

Really good food, excellent local beer on tap. Lots of fresh and creative veg and kids options. Good music and extremely friendly and nice staff. Bit small inside, but everyone makes it work. Good for families and dogs.

Spot on food, spot on beer and spot on staff. Had to wait for it to be open is the most frustrating thing! Tried twice and it was closed. Well worth it though. Would recommend to anybody visiting in the area.Were happy to make alterations to my food order.

Great find in the middle of Bowness for a lunch stop! Menu was a welcome difference to other places on offer, and party of 5 were all pleased with service and friendly staff. Coffees, soft drinks and food all served in good time. Dog friendly, and a great ambience.Try the Prawn and Chorizo tacos, Folk fries, and Korean chicken buns...amazing.70's background music playlist also a welcome break from the usual.

This place is incredible. One of the highlights of our trip to the lakes. Delicious food, beer selection featuring all local breweries but most of all, amazing service. The guys went out of their way to ask about our trip, we have kids a similar age, and they kindly wrote us a big list of places to go and things to do.

Absolutely fantastic!I came here today (21/7/22) as I wanted something a little different.I wasn’t disappointed! For the very first time I thought I would try Jerk Chicken and so I went for the Jerk Chicken served in two tacos.It was absolutely fantastic.The Folk Tap has a really nice atmosphere and the staff are really friendly too.Thank you everyone there and I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Really nice food, the prawn and chorizo tacos are delicious! We enjoyed the food so much visited twice over the weekend. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Not any other restaurants in the town like this little gem!

Found this by chance and stopped because we fancied something different for lunch.We had the Korean Chicken buns,the jerk chicken and the prawn and chorizo tacos.We also got a portion of fries.Whilst the portion size wasn t the biggest,the food was really tasty and fresh and the selection of drinks is excellent.We even called back later for drinks.A lovely place.
