We stayed in room 8 for two nights and the bed was nice and firm; just how I like it!The hotel is situated only a short walk to the shops to the north and Orrest Head, which had amazing views. It was also only a 10-15min walk down to Bowness and the lake itself. The area was peaceful and quiet and we never heard anything of anybody else during our time inside the room.The breakfast was lovely and they were very accommodating when I asked if I could switch something round on the menu to suit my tastes more.Always felt welcome and the staff were great. What an absolute amazing place so welcoming arrived on Friday. A lovely warm greeting offered cake and a cup of tea. Everything explained about rooms if there was anything we needed just to ask. Car parked with ease well breakfast was on another level 100% one of the best we have ever had. Rooms so nice lovely decorated.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Rum Doodle for five nights. We were instantly made to feel welcome by the owners. The decor was inviting and homely, very clean. The breakfasts we could not fault, delicious. I would definitely recommend this B&B to any friends and family going on holiday to the Lake District.

We had a fabulous time at Run Doodle. When we arrived the gentleman carried my case up to the room and offered us both a lovely glass of wine. The room was beautiful, big and clean with a nice view. Breakfast was amazing, it was brought up to our room both mornings and great options on the menu to choose from. Probably one of the nicest b&b breakfasts I’ve ever had actually. The maid was also absolutely lovely, very friendly and pleasant. We would certainly stay here again. Thanks Rum Doodle!

Brilliant location, breakfast was amazing, the best scrambled eggs i have ever had! Room was comfy and had everything you need, hairdryer, fan, heater, coffee/tea making facilities, spacious shower with a lovely view! Staff were all lovely and willing to help with anything you need, will stay here again

Stayed for 2 nights here. Beds were really comfortable and room very quiet. A lovely mix of vintage and modern decor and furnishings, gave the hotel a fresh elegant feel which was very relaxing. Breakfast was prepared to order with a good variation to choose from, and was lovely! Situated uphill from the lake, however the walk was manageable for myself and my husband who are both pensioners. There’s a good regular bus service between the lake and the top end of Windermere too! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

The staff at Rum Doodle are kind and attentive. Nevertheless our room (Burley) has several items to improve. First of all, there is no shower and the toilet is tiny and claustrophobic because everything is too brown and dark. Instead of a shower, there is a bath that would not be a problem if you could have a shower standing up or even kneeling down, but it’s impossible because the roof in that side of the room is very low. The room is a bit dusty on some furniture and the wall, and the dirtiest thing are the windows, they are dormer windows and the frames are full of dust, bugs and cobwebs. As positive items: the sheets were very clean and comfortable and you can find lot of storage furniture in the room. The parking is fine. The breakfast is tasty and of a good quality, although there are only four different options. So, if you stay for se eral days it could be repetitive.

This is a fantastic place. The location is wonderful. We stayed in the attic suite which was very comfortable and beautifully fitted. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and th breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend a stay, we're looking forward to revisiting

Lovely room, very comfortable bed with en-suite shower. Was told the mattress was new! Good tea/coffee selections, displayed on an old school desk, complete with ink well! Love it. Breakfast there was plenty. Opted for the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. A good choice. Although the Full Cumbrian did look just as good? Shame that I'm only here for two nights as I'm sure it would be a superb base for a week in The Lakes. Recommended.
This place is lovely! Really quirky, well decorated rooms which are incredibly clean and have great facilities. Breakfast was delicious and the service great. It’s a great location with a short walk either way to Windermere and Bowness. We will definitely be returning again

Had a wonderful stay for 3 nights. Peaceful and relaxing. Stayed in the Jungle room with breakfast served in our room. Fantastic food, very friendly owners and staff. A beautiful place, very quiet surroundings. Will ne back. ??Rooms: Beautiful, spotless, good quality facilities.Nearby activities: Lake Windermere, cinema and plenty places to eat.Walkability: 15 minute stroll into Windermere and Bowness. Uphill coming back but still enjoyable.

We stayed in the smallest room. However, it had everything we needed. A nice bed, shower, a hair dryer, kettle and tea bags. The breakfast was very good- it was no problem to veganize the porridge (which really kept you full until lunch on a hiking day). It was no problem to leave the luggage earlier. The lady working there was very friendly and it was nice to talk to her as a local and she gave as a nice recommendation for an afternoon break in Ambleside. The way the B&B is designed and decorated is just lovely and the rooms allow to stay in on a day of heavy rain!

Absolutely lovely stay at the Rum Doodle. The room was huge and so comfortable and everyone who works there so friendly and welcoming. We had breakfast in our room which was an added treat and lots of choice. It's easy to walk both up to Windermere or down to Bowness as it's only 10 minutes either way. Would definitely love to return.
