We can honestly say this is the best Italian restaurant we have ever been to ( and we've been to a lot ). The food was delicious, best lasagne I have ever tasted, the ambience and restaurant setting was amazing and staff fabulous. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Windermere, advice would be to book ahead of your trip, we were told by the staff in the restaurant to book about 10 days in advance , especially at weekends ?

I have dropped one star from service just because getting in touch with them to find out their menu etc was not easy. However, what a delight to eat there! A lovely building and the food was amongst the very best I have enjoyed anywhere. We both had starters and a main and we were both delighted with the quality of our food. We will come back the next time we are back in the lakes.

We have wanted to come here for all the years we have visited the lakes, finally managed it yesterday evening. The wine selection is Wow!!!! Really lovely to have such a wide selection, Italian whites ,reds , stunningI had cheese soufflé to start, followed by seafood pasta, my partner had blade of beef cooked to perfection and calamari soft and crispy, no room for pud unfortunately I really wanted the cherry dessert!! Next time , atmosphere was cosy and the staff are all very professional and attentive ?

Had a lovely meal last night at San pietro ,they accomadated me even though they were full and the service and food arrived in good time .the sea bass was cooked perfectly and the restaurant had a lovely happy vibe .

They began with giving us a reservation only at 9:30PM even though the restaurant is pretty much empty despite their last order being at 9:00PM (stated the sign on the door). The wait staff hurried us to place an order and we ended up ordering a main and a starter along with drinks for three people. The waiter then brought over the manager to tell us that we had to order “at least three mains” for 3 people and they can’t serve us anything less. Upon asking if they expected us to wait till 9:30 on an empty stomach her response was “I called you earlier” to clarify she called us 20 minutes before our reservation with no heads up, expecting us to be on standby for a restaurant reservation!! Ridiculous?! This, followed by refusal to serve us. She billed us for our drinks and left us hanging at 10PM in Windermere, a town that closes down by then. Overall, it was a horrendous experience and I would highly recommend that you find food anywhere but here. Some Italian places within walking distance that I can suggest - Francine’s & Cafe Italia.

We were lucky enough to get a table here on Saturday evening and so glad we did. The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and the wine was great too. Be aware - they don't do pizza.
A birthday outing for my wife. Arried early and the place was near empty with little atmosphere. But after 30 minutes or so it really filled up and by the time we had to leave it was packed full with a jovial buzing feel. We enjoyed our food very much; really tasty with adequate portions. Staff were attentive and friendly. Yes, I'd go there again. Bit of a long way to come as we live on Wirral. Good place; good food.

First time coming. We both loved our starters, my partner had Arancini and I had the goats cheese/pear which was incredible and full of flavours, the serving sizes were also very generous. I loved my beef lasagne, it was so crumbly and flavoursome. My partner enjoyed her porcini mushroom dish. Great service, attentive staff, sadly we were too full to try desert!

Firstly, the starters were amazing. We had the arancini and the calamari which were really tasty! We were a little disappointed with the pasta dishes, we had the carbonara and the arrabbiata which we asked for chicken to be added to. The chicken was over cooked and chewy, the pasta sauces were really tasty but the pasta tasted like one we could have made from a packet ourselves. The team were really attentive and polite, but we felt quite rushed to eat our meal, within us finishing the last bite of our starters they were cleared with the mains immediately following. Not sure if this was due to us booking just before the busy Saturday night rush began but it seemed very speedy and not very relaxed.
