Good quality fish cooked freshly to order. The portion sizes were really good and at a reasonable price too.?

Comfort food at its best with warm and friendly staff. Moist, tender haddock in a supremely tasty generous batter. The best around by a country mile (and it is literally a country mile). This is how fish ‘n chips should be!!!

Great food and friendly staff. Not many chippys I’ve been to that you can walk in 5 minutes before closing and still have a full choice from the menu and it be good food.

Visited this place whilst on holiday with family. I ordered haddock and chips (£10) for my husband, two cartons of curry sauce, small chips, and a chicken and mushroom pie. Total price £20.30. We returned to our accommodation to find there were no chips with the haddock, the batter was soggy, and there was no chicken and mushroom pie. The curry sauce was thick but tasted like watered-down tikka! Will not be returning again in the future ?

Perfect Fish n Chips what more could you want?! Really well cooked Haddock with a great crunchy batter and perfectly cooked chips (even after a short walk home) Friendly service and a great takeaway Highly recommended (The long line of people waiting said it all)

Got sausage and chips plus chicken pie and chips - very nice. Portion size generous, decent value, and staff pleasant. If I'm being picky the pastry was a bit heavy but loads of filling, and peas lovely. Warning to us north easteners: seems very few chippys up this way including this one, serve cod, it's mostly haddock. This one only takes cash, but plenty cashpoints handy to the shop which is in a little side street off the main drag. Happy to recommend

Friendly fish and chip shop. Had a large portion of fish and chips for £10. Worth noting they only accept cash.Vegetarian options: Chips and sides

The fish and chips were awful along with the fishcake being burn. I couldn't eat it. A total waste of £18 . I wouldn't go again

Busy on a Friday night, had the fish and chips for £10 which was great, a good sized portion (not sure if that is expensive or not these days). All menu photos on Google maps were way out of date.

The food was of an acceptable standard. Not great, but not bad.I felt there was far too many chips trying to make the portion size look excessive. More focus on quality is what I would like to see.Reading the reviews on here there is a common problem. The person taking the orders is an unpleasant person. I asked a question and had a snappy answer. The next few tourists asked questions about the food and had abrupt and rude answers from a woman not suitable for a forward facing position. The cash only posters read as bad paranoia.
