Last minute decision to go as it was snowing heavily in the lakes, hadn't booked but a table was found and a chair moved to make room for my wife's wheelchair, food was very nice and service was greatWheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchairs (nice and wide) as long as someone holds the door for you,

Delicious fresh food, plentiful and well priced. Service was grand, 4* for atmosphere because I was a little cold but that could just be me. It was roomy and overall we were pleasantly surprised. We'll be back for sure.

Last minute booking for New Year's Eve and the food was fantastic. Ordered nachos for one and the Oily's combo for one for starters (was so hungry I forgot to take photos). For mains we had the stilton burger and the chicken jalfrezi for mains. Both were really generous and really tasty. For desert it had to be lemon meringue pie and sticky toffee pudding. The service was first class and all the staff were really obliging and friendly. It's been a while since we were last here, but based on our meal we'll definitely be back soon. Thanks for a lovely evening.Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian options on the main menu.Parking: Ample free parking spaces.

Went with a group for Christmas meal.Vegan option was not good. Watery, flavourless soup with a slice of cheap white bread. Vegan "tart" was small, unimaginative and served with vegetables not cooked properly and no sauce or gravy! Won't be back! Poor value for money ?Not enough staff on duty to deal with the large number of people having meals, leading to long wait times between courses.Staff did their best and were good.

My first visit to Oily's was impressive. Staff were friendly enough. It was busy but not overwhelming. The food was good.... just looked like some of it had sat on the foodwarmer a little longer than desirable. But, it was a short notice, 1pm booking on a Thursday afternoon. So, that's not a huge criticism. Will I go there again? Absolutely yes.

Called in for lunch , lovely bar, attentive staff, friendly service, wonderful food, I had the steak and ale slab pie, generous helping,s and excellent taste, my wife had the turkey roast dinner which was equally plentiful and delicious, strongly recommend you visit when in the area.
Absolutley shocking food and the service was even worse. Dont go there! People vote with their feet, with so much competition around they need to get thier house in order.

the food was bland and tasteless. it took way too long to come out and when they did we didn’t even get it all.we couldn’t order the food proper due to one meal coming as we paid and was leaving and others came straight away so there is no time management at all. the customer service was appalling the staff was rude and lacked professionalism

We were surprised to find that at 7pm on a Saturday they weren't as busy as other places we had tried to book. Perhaps because it was bonfire weekend and Oily's is out of town. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. We had a well cooked and presented meal which was good value, particularly the "special". Portions were good, and there was a wide choice on the menu, including children's meals. Drinks were reasonably priced too and the staff friendly and helpful. Perhaps because they were not particularly busy, we were served fairly quickly. We took photos before leaving and the landlord even offered to take one of us all. We will definitely go back.
