“Very lovely cafeteria with sweet and savoury options. Had the lamb kofta flatbread for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with how much flavour it had. We had to wait 15 min but to be served but it was worth it. Shout out to their tap water being served with pomegranate, something I had never seen before.
The ambiance is cosy and relaxed, and very welcoming. Recommended.”
“We dined at The Lamplight this evening and it was just perfect. We have been quite a few times over many years, definitely want to make it a more regular occasion. The welcome on arrival was lovely and we were attended to straight away. The food was beautiful as was the service. It's a traditional restaurant that is not rushed.”

“What a wonderful warm, genuinely friendly welcome from the lovely owners. Have to say I have never had a shepherd’s pie as utterly scrumptious as the one made by the amazing chef Adam. The chips are to die for too. Cosy and comfortable inside, particularly by the open real fire. Lovely vibe from the moment you enter to the moment you leave with a ‘thank you, very much’ as a parting both ways. An absolute gem of a pub.”

“Went yesterday for Sunday lunch. It was very busy as had a function on, but the service was very quick and the roast beef was delicious. My husband is a chef he is difficult to please but he was very impressed. Ice cream was great too. Highly recommend .”

“Friendly staff and beautiful pub/restaurant. Went here after being disappointed at Pesto at the Peacock. Amazing dessert! I had the toffee banana pudding it was delicious. My uncle had the cheesecake which was also to die for. My aunt had the salted caramel creme brûlée, only criticism is that it was a little bit too salty. Coffees were also delicious, can’t wait to try the mains next time! Thank you!”

“I’m going to keep this simple … Wow …. Amazing food, with the menu changing quarterly , excellent service and staff and fantastic wine pairings
The taster menu, usually up to 12 dishes, are just fantastic, well executed and presented, each dish is described by the host and I would recommend the wine flight which pairs to you meal again described by the host.
The staff don’t just put your plate or glass down it’s served with passion.
No walk ins, it’s a booking only system”

“Brilliant proper pub. Serving an unsurpassable array of drinks, including scores of cider from around the country, including their own. Snacks, TV showing sport, and humble quiet beer garden.”
