Had a family lunch. All our meals were, tasty, well cooked and hearty portions.I had steak pie which had a good amount of meat, which was tender and NOT fatty or gristly.Would happily eat here again as menu was extensive and staff were friendly and service was quick.

The food and beer was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend burger night on a Thursday. It was one of the best burgers I have ever had! A real 'locals' pub as it is a bit out of Ashbourne, but well worth a visit.Food & drinks: Food was amazing ? ?

Food is just average food in a pub, was okay but nothing worthy of 5 stars.

We met friends there as it was close to where we were staying. Friendly, helpful staff and great atmosphere. Unfortunately the food wasn't great! My partner and I both had the Thai red curry from the specials board. It was bland, mild (the waiter told us it was medium) and didn't taste like a Thai curry. Our friends had belly pork and black pudding. The pork was very fatty and he didn't like the taste of the black pudding. The other friend had the salmon with new potatoes, veg and a creamy sauce. She said it was nice, just too much of it. Our chips were nice. We thought the portion sizes were on the large side for us. We had desserts. I had pavlova, which was nice but huge - I couldn't eat it all. Our friends shared a sticky toffee pudding, which wasn't sticky toffee pudding (We think it was supposed to be, but didn't taste like it). 3 of us had coffee, which was nice. Nice staff, shame about the food!Food & drinks: Food wasn't great - sorry!

Popped in with young kids for dinner after a (nearly) 4 hour trip.Staff were so friendly and welcoming. They were patient with our kids, and really prompt to help us.We ordered the pork belly, and two kids meals - the portions were huge, and absolutely delicious. Shame I don't live closer as this would easily become my favourite pub very quickly!Food & drinks: Pork belly was superb!!!

Amazing food and great location. We were passing by on our way back to Mcr and decided do book a room for the night as it's a dog friendly and has lovely comfortable warm rooms on the food is real wholesome hearty pub grub. The cider is crispy and fresh and we ordered food after unpacking. Delicious tasty lunch and good portions & value for money. Becky on the bar was fantastic and the Cox' s really have a superb place here full credit to all the team.
