First time, and will definitely go back. Had the set platter for 2, and there was so much we took some home! I'm not a big fan of fish, so wasn't sure what I would like, and was definitely surprised at what I did like. Even managed chopsticks! The platter has a good range of different types of sushi which was perfect. Staff were absolutely lovely too. Perfect birthday night out for my partner, who is actually quarter Japanese ?.

Fabulous food! My partner and I ordered the large set meal for two, which comes with a starter of miso soup. The main is a large sushi and sashimi platter. There was a generous selection of various styles of sushi rolls, and some delicious sashimi. Even better, the restaurant happily boxed up our leftovers for us to take away. The service was friendly and efficient. We'd recommend this establishment to all sushi lovers, and will definitely be returning when we visit Buxton again.

We went on a very quiet Sunday evening. We were the only ones in, on arrival. We decided on the set meal for two, as this gives a broad feel of what somewhere is all about. We were really tempted by udon noodles and Dragon roll, but settled on the set for two. First, cons; The music is a bit weird! It's that royalty free stuff (which I totally get, having had a place myself for 13 years), but I'm sure you could get something that sounds more 'Japanese-y'? Beer at just shy of a fiver for a small bottle (but that's standard for restaurants). The trek to the toilets - nothing they can do about the building's layout - but it does come as a shock (especially on a full stomach). The waiter spoke very limited English, BUT my Japanese isn't as good as his English, so....... Now pro's. Setting is lovely, in fact very romantic, without being twee! Very clean, smart, attentive staff. Now then - the food. IT-WAS-AMAZING!!! We started with a bowl of miso soup, with little morsels of salmon and tofu. That set the standard, as we really wanted more. However, when we saw the platter, it was a good job we WERE hungry! Such a great.show of their skills, a work of art on a plate. Each morsel screamed flavour! We ummmed and ahhhhed our way through the whole thing, each mouthful as good as the first. We recently ate sushi in a respected restaurant in London, and this was as good. Despite my con observations, I couldn't possibly give this place any less than full marks. It won't be long before we go back. If you're thinking of going - just stop thinking, and GO!

Have been here a few times before and it is always excellent everything is very fresh and colourful. We usually opt for the set meal for two and some seaweed salad as it is good value. with a variety of fish included. This time we pre-ordered our meal as we knew we would be arriving after (pm as we were setting up for the Bakewell Mineral show before hand. We will be here again in a few weeks time for an event in Buxton.

What a fantastic find! We were in Buxton for my son's 20th birthday and as a family we adore sushi. I used the online booking page and received a confirmation of our Saturday night reservation. At 7:30pm, we walked into a clean and well presented restaurant and was warmly greeted and shown to our seats. The waiter was quick to ask if we would like drinks, and when he returned asked if was ready to order. Perfect. We took a few more minutes, and settled on the set meal for 1, and a set meal for 2. What was brought out was a delight to behold, and we thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. Well worth seeking out if you are in the area.

We got a range of foods, from udon noodles, katsu curry, adult and kids salmon sushi set. The food was delicious, however the adult salmon sushi set wasn't as big as I would have expected given the price (would be great if there was more rice based sushi pieces) so went home hungry. I was disappointed with the soya sauce, which seems watered down - from the reviews it might be home made? Would be good if they could offer the genuine Kikkoman sauce as an alternative option? The kids sushi set was a great size though and my son loved it.

Best sushi in England, their Katsu curry is 100 times better than wagamama

We’ve only eaten in Japanese restaurants a couple of times so not experts in this cuisine at all but can safely say that this was one of the best meals out we’ve had in a long time. The sushi looked beautiful on the plate and tasted amazing and the yakisoba and teriyaki were both packed full of flavour. Staff were all friendly and the restaurant although lit brighter than you’d usually expect was perfectly clean and pleasant. Only downside is the trek up several flights of stairs to visit the loo! Shame we don’t live closer so we could visit more often.

I had a delightful dining experience at this Japanese restaurant! The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy and tender, and the 18-piece sushi and sashimi set with tuna and salmon was a real treat. The flavors were authentic, and the presentation was impressive. My taste buds were thoroughly satisfied.

On holiday in the Peak District, I came to Buxton especially because I fancied some Sushi- and was not disappointed. Lovely lunch platter selection - with a katsu curry option for my partner who doesn’t do fish!
