This charming cafe had very nice food, and lovely staff. It was dog friendly, which was lovely.I would recommend everything on the menu except from the milkshakes, which are not milkshakes, but milk with revolting syrup. Other than the milkshake faux pas.

Great place for a pitstop when shopping in Buxton. Sausage cob on brown with Indian spicing hits the spot. Wide choice of beverages. Nice room, friendly staff, good value. Recommended as a superior indie café choice, better value than corporate coffee bars plus the money is staying in the local economy.

If you like spicy food, then this is an excellent choice. Staff very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Big thumbs up to Ben, thank you!

What’s not to love about a local, independent cafe with great coffee and even better food. The Indian twist on brunch and lunch classics was a welcome surprise as we searched the high street for somewhere to eat.Service was even better than the food. This place is a must to try if you’re staying in Buxton.

Great tasting food, staff were friendly and very accommodating. Only a small number of tables so reserve one if it's a busy weekend.

Been a few times and never had anything bad to say, however this morning Brunch was cooked well however extra avocado, came out as Gucomole and was rather spicy (understandably) but not whats specified as guacamole. The service was very poor considering it was table service the waitress with Glasses and black hair was rather rude and didn't once give a check back and we weren't asked for condiments to accompany the dish. After asking loudly after not being asked rudely she brought the condiments we asked for but then was expecting me to take them from her hand as thoughshe wanted me to thank her for the poor table service. EMBARRASSING to be honest. Never felt so uncomfortable receiving ketchup and salt. Any way the food overall was nice and the other staff seemed nice.

How far would you travel for a fantastic culinary experience? The Chakra Lounge is a great place to visit during the day as we have done many times before for an oat latte and vegan cake, vegan breakfast or even lunch. The food, service and atmosphere has always impressed, which is why we continue to return when in the area. Now if you really want a treat worth travelling for on a Friday or Saturday evening, you really have to go there for dinner. We have had many Indian meals before, but the food at the Chakra Lounge is by far the best we have ever had, and that is not something said lightly. Every bite is a taste sensation. The ingredients work so well together that you can actually taste their individual flavours and textures. Very well thought out and a credit to the chefs. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is cosy and to answer the question, sixty five miles. That's how far good food is worth travelling for.Dietary restrictions: Vegan food, cakes and drinks

Update to previous review below, done some time ago. We went to Chakra Lounge yesterday evening as it is now open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Again, it was fabulous. The food is authentic and extremely good, the service exceptional, and prices very good. The curries are quite hot overall, but staff checked in, offered yoghurt, and so on so very keen to ensure it's a good experience. There are vegan choices too - we had these and they were superb. This is a fantastic find and I can't recommend it highly enough. We have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants over many years and the food here is amongst the best, if not actually the best. Give it a try!Absolutely wonderful place. Food is excellent with superb vegan options, and the staff very welcoming and friendly. also have excellent vegan cake take-out. Really lovely welcoming place. Highly recommended.

Called into the chakra lounge whilst in Buxton. I was impressed with the allergy and intolerance information displayed on the website. As a coeliac family I do ask a lot of questions regarding food prep and ingredients and the website displayed a positive vision. We were approached after a short wait by a young lady who stated they had no available tables for 4 however they did have one reserved which we could have for 40 mins. We also could not order food due to a delay. We were not offered an alternative of two small tables which would have been a better choice (they also turned away others without offering an alternative) we sat for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. I went to the counter to look at the drinks available and was told in a very abrupt way that we would be served at the table. I was simply looking at the gf cakes and drinks on display. Out of the three staff only one young girl spoke with a very arrogant manner. I’m not one to complain but on this occasion the whole atmosphere made me feel I was not welcome. I love eating out and have worked in the industry I understand at busy times it can be quite stressful waiting on but the staff seemed to be tripping over themselves with many clean set tables. The staff came across like they didn’t like their job, no welcome or bubbly feel. I decided to leave as we were left with 10 minutes before the next table and a very unwelcoming feel. We can’t eat many places on this occasion traveled home without food with two very upset and hungry children. I would hate others to have the same experience. I can see many good reviews so maybe this was an off day but the staff were absolutely appalling the one experience has made me feel so unhappy I will not be returning.

Popped in for brunch and opted for the If Indians Did It breakfast; cumin potatoes, bacon, sausage, masala beans, tomato, mushroom and toast, plus optional haloumi, avocado and masala scrambled eggs. It was delicious! Fresh, excellent quality, beautifully spiced. If you’re looking for some hearty tasty food that’s a little different to the usual cooked breakfast, I can’t re this highly enough. I will be back.
