Incredible Crispy Confit Duck this afternoon. Service was great, and we found a table big enough for 4 adults and a small child. Drinks reasonably priced (Guinness, Red Wine, Lemonade and Cola). Bright and airy pub showing the football and some interesting vintage fruit machines. Back to the duck. Best food I've eaten in a pub serving food below £20 a dish. We arrived at the pub late as we’re not local, in fact we’re southerners, and the staff were so lovely from the minute we arrived. They’d stopped serving food but suggested the place next door who would deliver to the pub. When our food arrived, they went out of their way to still serve us sauces etc. and let us taste their own food that they’d ordered.. northern hospitality at its finest!!!! Would highly recommend. I am not the type of person to leave reviews but i felt a strong need to do so with this establishment. First of all and importantly, friendly staff who love their jobs whether in the bar or in the kitchen.
