Great location and such a friendly pub. Who knew they were open til 2am on Tuesdays for karaoke! Ample parking too

In all its beauty and charm, this is the quintessential English country pub. However, The Nights Table, formerly The Travellers Rest has much more to offer than just the location. Fantastically locally sourced food, that is cooked to perfection and served with grace and enthusiasm. The selection of beers alone, is solely well worth the journey up the moor and the views from the windows - sublime!!

What a warm & beautiful place, the food was out of the world. The staff could not do enough for us. We celebrated my mums 80th birthday. Thank you for making it a special day... Would highly recommend this place.

The exquisite food, friendly staff, and an ambiance that is evocative of King Arthur, this is truly a little slice of magic in the Buxton hills. This was our first visit, and won't be the last. We have booked the accommodation for a birthday celebration.

Just had a great overnight stay here everything about it was excellent, the rooms, food, attention to detail & great value for money would highly recommend it. Carol the host couldn’t do enough for us even providing us with toothpaste & brushes as we had forgotten ours! Can’t wait to come back hopefully when the weather is a bit better. Thanks for a great stay made even better that we were with good friends.

Beautiful place to stop for a quick drink, until you get to the bar. There you can expect to be told off for trying to pay by card and instructed where you are allowed to stand. If you foolishly move to another standing area (maybe a couple more people arrived in your party and you’d like to talk to them?) expect to be told to move. You may even be told you can have table, so long as you’re out in 20 minutes. After your allotted 20 minutes is reached, you’ll then be asked if, “the cars outside are yours?”. This is a strange question for a pub which is in the middle of absolute nowhere. If it transpires you have come by car, “You’ll need to move them, we have others arriving soon”. This didn’t apply to all patrons, just those who weren’t dining. I know that a quick drink is not as profitable as sitting down for 3 courses, but it doesn’t mean you should be treated like something that needs to be wiped off a shoe. If you don’t want passing drinks trade, that’s fine, put up a sign on the door - don’t just be rude until patrons leave. The hospitality industry is about making people feel welcome, even if they’re not spending a fortune.

Just spent a night in the Keep next door to the pub. Room was amazing and extremely clean, food was fabulous and not over priced. Carol the owner was so nice and could not do enough for us. Highly recommend

What a find, a true country pub with the best home cooked food, cosy interior and very friendly and welcoming staff. True Hospitality in every way. Wish there were more real places like this around.

Try the pie....excellent! as is the liver and onions. Interior is very quirky and perhaps not to everyone's taste as its a bit Walt Disney film set but the views through the windows make up for it. The staff are ultra friendly and helpful.

We stayed here in February 2020. A warm welcome and a complimentary upgrade to the Keep suite! The food was delicious and good portion sizes. Very reasonably priced food and drink. Warm and cosy. Nice theming. And the Keep suite was wonderful. A home from home. We’ll definitely return.
