THIS PLACE DOES NOT SERVE FOOD. Other than basic pub snacks anyway. Friendly bar atmosphere. Dawn is a great host and this place has a very homey atmosphere. Has quite a few regulars coming back so you can tell the service level is consistant. Will certainly come back again. Gluten free beer available, live music + more

Toliets absolutely stank. Returned the next day hoping it was just a busy Saturday but the entire pub smelt of stale urine. Never smelt anything so strong in my entire life. Makes you question the hygiene standards of the pub and definitely put me off returning.
Staff, (aside from the manager) were nice. Well priced drinks, nice atmosphere from customers.

Wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, definitely good food, tasty pies, burgers and fish finger sarnies. Clean and tidy tables, pleasant and efficient service. Plus a lot less ? wasps indoors. We had a very enjoyable lunch.

It's good to see they've put this place back to its former glory. There are plenty of ales to choose from, it's cosy and the staff are always friendly.
Some might say that what Dawn Alvey doesn't know about running a pub is not worth knowing.
Fortunately then that The Rutland Arms has the Stewardship of Dawn and Martin Alvey and their amazing team.
The Rutland Arms is a warm, friendly, fun, safe place for the good people of Chesterfield and visitors and their dog to enjoy a range of Ciders, Wines, Spirits, Lagers, Keg and Cask Ales and soak up the warm and friendly atmosphere.
There is regular live music and a weekly Inquizzitive Quiz, that any Random Dude can take part in.
Food is apparently planned to follow shortly and makes an occasional guest appearance courtesy of Greg and Steve to add to the mix.
