Wandered in here while waiting for a bus. I wasn't sure it was open at first as it was quite gloomy inside however the friendly and cheerful landlord (I think) reassured me it was and beckoned me inside. The apparent "gloominess" was in fact part of the Halloween decorations. Had a pleasant pint of Neck Oil and sat down to enjoy the ambiance and a refreshing classic rock oriented playlist. Traditional pub with a wide range of lager real ale and cider varieties. Dawn and Martin have lots of innovative ideas for the pub and plan to introduce food after a kitchen refurbishment. Also it's a dog friendly pub.

Excellent place to go. Quiz nights on a Thursday are also highly recommended..... Great fun! This is now a wonderful, pleasant and homely place to go. Top Marks!!Parking: Parking is close by in Spa Lane Car Park. A few minutes walk away. Free parking for Chesterfield Residents after 3pm with a permit but charges apply up to 8 pm. It is next to the main road so it is safe.
