Love it, being in the bear pit with the lads has the best atmosphere you’ll ever find in any pub!

Stopped in for drinks on the way back from a walk.Lovely environment, great choice of drinks, the food menu looked lovely (but didn't eat) and I can't wait for the summer to enjoy the beer garden.

This pub is on the peak District boundary walk and I can thoroughly recommend it. I was too tired to think after walking from Redmires but the lady behind the bar patiently helped me choose something to revive me.

Absolutely terrible service! The bar staff were so rude and unhelpful we asked for food and were told we had to order from the bar which is fine they then left our plates on the table for the foreseeable Definitely treat regulars different as one man shouted from his table to get another drink she did so for him took his money and change back! In a service industry you think that they would treat new customers or everyone in general the same we will never go back after trying to complain all we got was I’m not talking to you things are out of my hands the most rude experience ever! And they young woman was called Beth! Hopefully she’ll treat people better next time

Great friendly pub in lovely location, fantastic cheeseboards with probably around 30 cheeses (my guess) to choose from, nachos and pork pies. Good choice of ales, wines and spirits particularly whiskies and all fairly priced for the quality and portion size received.Parking: Further parking round corner.

Called in yesterday evening with family, wife son and girlfriend and sat in top corner. We had nachos lovely flavour and three cheeseboards, one with pork pie. The size of the tasty cheeses and huge variety was great. I am not a lover of pork pie but that one was exceptional and had no jelly when washed down with pickle and a pint of Erdinger, plus wine later. The portion size are huge even for two 18 stone men, we were beaten, so we asked if we could take the remaining cheeses home which we were able too. The service and welcome upon arrival and during our stay was exceptional. Overall summary great staff, lovely setting, super quality and value food and drinks. We will be back and highly recommend this establishment. Thank you.

Had a lovely cheese board and beers. The lady was really welcoming and friendly. We had a 2 cheese ploughman's with a pork pie and it was definitely enough for 2. We also has 2 of the small bits which were really nice, salt and pepper squid and mushrooms .Really nice and peaceful and a good size car park over the road from the oub, although be careful when leaving as its on a blind corner!
