This landlady and bar man really went out their way to accommodate us last night at very short notice and late- we were on our way back from Manchester Airport when Baslow became impassable- no local hotels had rooms and despite turning back and travelling 15 miles we found the Roebuck!! Our room was so comfy and spotless and we had a much needed good nights rest? The bed and pillows were so comfortable and as very late they pointed us in direction of Piza place for food? We can’t thank them enough!!!! A truly lovely pub with amazing people and great bed n breakfast ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The room was spotlessly clean with everything you need, comfortable bed and pillows, the shower/bath water was hot almost instantly with large bath towels, plenty of tea and coffee and replenished every day when the room is cleaned, Karen the manageress said if we required any more just let her know. The bar was very pleasant, with a great selection of drinks and was busy with friendly locals, Karen as she is from Chapel en le Frith, explained where to go, what to do and see. The location of the Roebuck Inn couldn’t have a better location in the Market Square at the centre of the town, there is free parking in front which we managed to get whilst we were there 2 days

Nice greeting, nice staff. Rubbish sleep. There is a green light in room 2 that is on all night long. When I mentioned it the next day I was told they had no choice it was a security light and down to the brewery.... they tried sticking tape over it. The tape made very little difference as the room was still illuminated bright green all night long. They could change it or ensure it was adequately covered. Worst sleep I've ever had in a hotel☹️

Stayed a night there for £80.The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. But you can hear every other guest in every other room closing doors, turning the bathroom light on and flushing the loo, so not the best night's rest.

Stayed one night, room was nice enough and very clean but sadly the walls are paper thin so ça hear best door or upstairs using the bathroom, the air extractor is also more noisy than average and the doors especially the external one cannot be shut quietly no matter how hard you may try

My experience at The Roebuck was indeed interesting. From the strange reception process to the mystery checkout there were twists and turns at most corners. I won't run through the detail, but I would emphasise all along that the landlady went out of her way to do her best for all of those staying, which is more than many do. However, there were a few little let downs along the way. The rooms were adequate if not entirely comfortable i.e. a chair may have proved useful to sit on rather than just the bed. The room did provide the opportunity for a decent nights sleep. The bathroom was again adequate but just about. The breakfast was plentiful, but it's usually included in the price for a bed and breakfast? It was well prepared but why ask guests to pay for it the night before? At £6.95 for a full English I'd suggest throwing £10 on the room rate and be done with it. They had my card details, we were hardly going to do a runner!
