This landlady and bar man really went out their way to accommodate us last night at very short notice and late- we were on our way back from Manchester Airport when Baslow became impassable- no local hotels had rooms and despite turning back and travelling 15 miles we found the Roebuck!! The room was spotlessly clean with everything you need, comfortable bed and pillows, the shower/bath water was hot almost instantly with large bath towels, plenty of tea and coffee and replenished every day when the room is cleaned, Karen the manageress said if we required any more just let her know. The bar was very pleasant, with a great selection of drinks and was busy with friendly locals, Karen as she is from Chapel en le Frith, explained where to go, what to do and see....read full review

My review is purely on how they dealt with my request to cancel my booking with them. Unfortunately we never got to stay here due to last minute circumstances. Our free cancellation had ran out. I asked if it was possible to waive the fee because of the circumstances and they very kindly did so. Many places would not be so understanding. Very happy with the service I received and hope to actually stay here soon!
