If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. We were made to feel very welcome the moment we stepped through the door. The 2 staff on the bar were genuinely friendly, looked like they enjoyed their jobs. The food was amazing, I had the fried chicken and my friend had the sausage and mash. It was truly delicious! And even tho we were a little bit full we couldn't resist the cookie dough and sorbet for pudding! Great selection of teas too ;) excellent all round. Will be returning! Thank you

We were recommended this eatery by a local when travelling in the area and were not disappointed. The food, service and staff were impeccable. Would highly recommend and will be definitely visiting again.

We fancied a pub lunch while visiting Bakewell (On a Monday) but it was so busy. Got in the car and headed to Carvery after looking at a few reviews on Google. The reviews were right. Lovely staff, great service and fabulous food. We had Steak, Haggis and peppercorn pie x 2 and Mum in law had the sausage of the day ( toad in the hole style). Then hubby had the bread n butter pudding and I had the Bailey's ice-cream ( made by Arthur, the owners son). Best ice-cream I've tasted. Yes we will return, will even plan a walk round here so we can.

What a find! Stayed here for 2 nights and cannot recommend highly enough. The room was comfortable and clean, with lovely furnishings. We were made to feel really welcome, and the food was amazing both nights. Can echo all the positive reviews about the pies. Perfect base for hiking, my only regret is not having enough room to try one of the puddings! Next time!

A great pub in a grand location. Came here for lunch a few minutes after they opened at 12pm on a Thursday. We were surprised to find other customers already here and loads of tables reserved. Really friendly bar staff. The food was lovely and the portions filled us up. Will definitely be coming back

Great pub for food and a beer. Dog and child friendly, with a great selection of food for all ages (this includes smaller larger plates on the main menu). We had a gluten free and dairy free diner and all were catered for easily and the food was no less delicious.Pies looked amazing, but can recommend the Calver fried chicken and the SchwarmaDietary restrictions: Well catered forParking: Loads of space

Went for a booked table at 12, seated and the waiting staff were very pleasant. The pub was quite quiet but it still took a good 50 minutes before the food arrived.Food was nice, great portion for the price ( £16)Would recommend and return.
