Have visited this place for Sunday lunch before and have always managed to get a table without booking. However today was different and noticed every table was reserved. I have no problem with this, call it unlucky if you like. What I found unacceptable was the unfriendly and couldn't care less attitude of the young girl working there. With pubs facing challenging times good luck with this attitude. I will take my custom elsewhere.

Lovely pub with great friendly service (we called ahead and they saved us food) Generous portions of tasty no nonsense hearty food. I had the vege option, she had the beef both were excellent, perfect Yorkshire puddings, loads of sides (wonderful cauliflower cheese).Good beer tooStrongly recommend.

Went on a Friday evening where fish and chips was the popular choice at a very reasonable £14. John the chef has breathed new life into the food menu since coming in a few months ago. The dishes are all great quality, innovative and decently sized. This together with a good beer selection makes this a great choice for an evening meal

The Anglers Pub exceeded all expectations! The service was truly amazing, and the food was top-notch pub fare. After a long hike in the peaks, this place is an absolute must-visit. 11/10 would highly recommend for a satisfying post-adventure meal.

Great atmosphere - good pub food - staff excellent (and we were a large group for an evening meal). Spacious pub that also has café - definitely worth a visit.

A fab roast dinner, especially the beef! Loadsa gravy and massive yorkshires, great roasties too. Super flavoursome veggies. Lovely friendly staff too, what’s not to love on a Sunday!

Holy cow, I just ate the best roast dinner that I've ever had.The Anglers achieved something I didn't think possible at a pub Sunday lunch - actually medium rare roast beef. And the assortment of sides was not only extensive (think root veg, buttered greens, stuffing, mash, pigs in blanket, roasties and a Yorkshire pudding) but outrageously tasty. The mash potatoes had some sort of magic in it to make it taste like the nectar of the gods. The pub is community owned and it really had a sense of being a bustling hub. Plus they very tolerant of an over excited 4yo.I cannot recommend a visit enough, but it was all booked out when we arrived so best to book ahead. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Came here on Friday night with a group of friends. Lovely atmosphere and great selection of ales behind the bar. Ordered the ocean pie which was full of tasty fish and plenty of mushy peas on the side. The jam sponge and custard was just as scrumptious - huge portion too! The other meals served looked equally de-lish, so I'll be back to sample some more from the menu.Bar staff and waiters/waitress couldn't have been more helpful.
