Owners are really nice and the food (pheasant) was lovely. Stopped in the Mason suite and the only slight inconvenience is the kitchen extraction verbarrated through to the room. It's turned off circa 11pm and back on at 6.30am. Happily stop there again but a different room.

Lovely Sunday roast and pie. Had the steak pie and it was awesome. My friends all had beef Sunday roast and were happy too! One round of beers, 3 Sunday roast + 1 pie + 4 puds = £100. We will come back!

Just popped in for a drink after walking nearby. Great beer, locally brewed by Abbeydale brewery. Friendly service and a welcoming fire.

Stayed here while travelling and seeing friends, service was great couldn't fault it and the food was top tier the battered cod was perfect and a good serving. The room was okay just maybe a little tlc in a few areas but it is a pub not a hote, the only gripe I had was the bed was so hard and wasn't comfy. Overall though good place to stay and amazing food ?

Food was bloody lovely. Gave our compliments to the chef. It's definitely a step above pub grub. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Wonderful walkers pub set in the stunning peaks. Great food, friendly service and cozy rooms to rest in-between days of hill climbing. Makes a fantastic stop off point for walking between Grindleford, Combs Dale and Eyam. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the family room. The room was very spacious, clean, and quite. It's an inn, so it's not like a hotel but it was a very pleasant stay. We didn't include breakfast in our reservation, so picked and paid in the morning at the pub. Since most of my family don't eat much, we liked the selections they have. The most surprising part was that the foods for dinner at the pub was so good.

Room was lovely. Spacious, clean, comfortable. Ensuite also lovely. TV signal not great & only the main channels, but I don't watch TV much, so this wasn't an issue.Good location for visiting Chatsworth, Bakewell, Buxton, etc and for walking.I never did find how to add breakfast, wasn't told at check in and no information on the room, but that probably saved me money!

Unfortunately breakfast included is continental only although it does not state this on booking or in conformation email. Cooked breakfast is extra. We paid the extra and it was very basic for £13.95. The room was clean needed freshening up a bit
