A great pub, serving delicious, uncomplicated food. Booked a table for 4 and had a great time, really friendly staff and a very cosy atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Dog friendly place with basic pub food.Just be careful not to be seated right next to the toilet door.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay in Bradwell in the Peak District only marred by a visit to the Shoulder of Mutton pub which was in the village. As the pub had very good reviews we ventured over for an evening meal on Sat 23 Sept. We ordered a vegetable lasagne/salad (which was very good) and a steak pie and chips which was well below standard (very overdone). We mentioned politely to the waiting staff that the meal was sub-standard and asked for our comment to be passed back to the kitchen. Nothing happened. When the waiting staff came back to clear the plates we mentioned again politely that the meal was not up to standard at which point the landlady arrived at our table. She was abrupt, incredibly rude and very combative refusing to accept that the meal was sub-standard. We had intended to have further evening meals during our stay but in the view of the unfriendly landlady and quality of the meal we never ventured back and definitely would not recommend the pub to anyone else.
