Called in for a couple drinks in January, lovely log fire, very welcoming. Prompt service and soon the place filled up. A really nice touch the landlady (just taken over the pub) brought sandwiches and pork pie to tables, excellent quality, and service like this is a rarity nowadays. Highly recommended.
Fantastically warm and cosy atmospheric pub, full of character and history. Very friendly bar staff with quick service. Great background music too! Someone has good taste!Completely unpretentious venue, and clearly very popular with locals and visitors alike.We have felt welcome and comfortable on all our visits and particularly enjoy taking our drinks out to the little green opposite the pub and watching paragliders wheeling in the air above the hill nearby.Charming setting,...read full review

Loved this friendly, welcoming and cosy pub when we popped in for a drink and warm up. The lovely barmaid didn't even charge for our 10 year old sons drink or crisps as kids eat and drink free on school holidays. Highly
