Quite a busy pub which is close to a large retail outlet and has motel accommodation on site. It was quite busy but the meals were delivered in a short space of time. Both meals were plentiful and well cooked. Would visit again if in the area.

Great food, although you need extra staff behind the bar when people want to order their food and drinks as I was waiting for 10 minutes to be served.

Had a mixed grill if that's what they call a mixed grill there was more chips than meat and for the price it was won't be eating there again.

Very quick service. The lady at the bar was lovely, friendly and helpful. The food was good. The waiter we over heard him talking about us as we asked for more sauce. Which Is terrible!

Booked a table for Sunday lunch time as we knew it was going to be busy. 8 of us crammed into the smallest space, extremely cramped. The restaurant itself was just messy. The mens toilets, one of them was closed, the other that was open, there’s no lock on the toilet which is annoying. The carvery deck was a mess. Food everywhere. Extremely fatty gammon. The parsnips were so undercooked that they were nearly inedible. The service for the other mains that came out were very slow. The man’s attitude who was taking the orders on the bar, well that was absolutely shocking. Clearly didn’t care, clearly didn't want to be at work, which I get, but don’t let the customer know that. This was supposed to be a nice family meal but I would not recommend Castlewood at all. Overall, it was just a mess!

Not bad, not the best, certainly not the worst. Reasonable prices.

We couldnt get in where we were due to go so we visited here. On arrival it looked fairly busy and I specifically asked for a table Restaurant side but the host said " your looking at an hours wait or you can eat in the bar area " my response was we will get a drink in the bar while we wait for the table. To then find people vaping in the bar area! So not an ideal place to eat either! So we waited for an hour or so as we were well into our second round of drinks as I went to get the 3rd round in I asked the host is the table ready? " sorry this area is closed now " so I was pretty hacked off at this point to then wait 5 minutes at the bar to order food while staff were stood around talking within the bar area! This was my first time of visiting this brand and Ive got to say im disappointed to say the least and I more than likely not to visit again due to this experience. I could of been a mystery guest and you would of scored pretty miserably.

The food wasn't bad here, it was okay and we felt welcome and the seating was nice too. We used to go regularly before but then things went bad so we stopped and now, it seemed better so we will go again, as the staff were friendly here.Vegetarian options: They have a good selection of vegi food here but it would be better to check before you go for anything specific requirements.Parking: You don't have to worry about parking spaces here as you will get parking on most nights without any problem. There are spaces for hotel guests together with the castlewood Brewer restaurant as it's all together situated.Kid-friendliness: This place has an indoor kids' play area, and you can observe from outside through a large glass window or inside seating as there is also a toddlers' play area, too.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps to go in or out so wheelchair users can freely access the property, and as this is linked to a hotel, you can enter internally as well.
