French style bar/bistro in the centre of Wirksworth with good menu choices, specials board and lunchtime offer. Extra seating downstairs. Extensive wine selection. Only real downside was that we struggled to find anywhere to park nearby on a Friday night.Vegetarian options: French restaurants aren't generally the best for vegetarians but Le Mistral has a choice of interesting dishes

We all ate vegan - the food was lovely and the menu clearly labelled, including the wines. A few of the desserts were ‘vegan option’ where they swapped out dairy ice cream for vegan ice cream. Yum.Dietary restrictions: Vegan

What a great find. It is a wonderful restaurant in this historic village. It looks like a cafe from the outside, yet we were taken down into their beautiful cellars for a delicious evening meal with fabulous service. The menu was interesting, so we all tried something different, and none of us were disappointed. I'd highly recommend a visit, though do book in advance

Waited to be seated, noone bothered to greet,even though there were 3 staff on duty. I should have walked out at that point but had time to kill prior to an appointment.Ordered the croque monsieur which eventually arrived after a 22 minute wait, no apology or communication from staff. Restaurant was only half full with people drinking coffee so no excuse. Cheap white toasted bread , limp and soggy most probably from being left to sit on a counter. Tasteless and bland. Won't bother returning.

I have ate here a few times , most recently we popped by after a day's walking round the wonderful quarries around wirksworth.They had the 50% off offer on ..I believe it's on for about 6 weeks after Xmas.I visited with 2 of my friends which are vegans , we all had the vegan wellington with mash and vegetables and gravy..which was delicious.The building itself is lovely , especially downstairs were we sat.The staff were attentive too , nothing was an issue for them.The red wine was of an excellent quality and they do good coffee also.Would highly recommend.

We went there for the first time last night. The restaurant itself was very welcoming and had a really friendly atmosphere. We asked for one of the main courses as a starter and they were more than happy to oblige. All the courses were really nice and the service was excellent. We will definitely be going again.
