“Absolutely amazing cafe! Three out of four of us are gluten and dairy free, and Charlie’s cafe had so many incredible options! Every cake and treat we tried was delicious, with special highlights being the jam doughnut and the carrot cake – but we tried so many!
The gentleman serving us was super friendly and incredibly helpful, taking the time to show us which cakes were also safe for my sister who can’t have nuts. The entire place is fully gluten free and vegan, which made the whole experience stress-free and so enjoyable. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!!”

“What a delightful place to stop off from the tarka trial; we walked from Braunton to Barnstaple and noticed a sign for a coffee shop off the tarka trail. It's quite hidden the sign but we had our dogs and it said doggy ice creams so popped up to see it. We ordered the 3 meat panini and omlete - both delicious and kept us going until evening. We then carried on onto Barnstaple and stopped for drinks at Betty's tea house - that was lovely too. Had a pot of tea there and a large slice of cake. We've not been to Barnstaple for over 30 years and it has changed a lot since our last outing. Shame a lot of the shops are now closed but I suppose that's most small town now”

The staff are welcoming and my scrambled eggs, mushrooms and bacon on sourdough toast were beautiful!
