Lovely cosy, relaxed cafe. I had really good coffee and cake. Very friendly staff and dog friendly. Beautiful views over mouth of river and has outside seating with same views. Great to combine visit here with a coast walk.

Lovely little spot to stop after our walk along the coastal path from Dartmouth with the dog. Nice and warm with a beautiful view and a welcome cup of tea and slice of cake.

Generally very good, with great views, tasty smooth coffee, and good homemade snacks. Savoury platters up to standard too. Always hard for a small business with a high turnover to be utterly charming with every customer, but a reasonable balance between polite and quick achieved. Is it a destination in itself? Combined with the view? yes. Nearby free parking not a problem out of season.

Been here twice - advertised as shutting at 4, both times got there at about 10/5 to, once there was no-one there at all, assumed it was because we hit it on a random day when someone was ill or something, and second time got there and was told 'we can't serve as we shut at 4' even though it was clearly not 4, which I checked with other people sitting outside. Obviously places are entitled to shut when they want, but probably best not to give people a time and then not stick to it... pretty annoying when you've walked miles to get there promising your kids a hot drink at the other end...

Stopped there for a bacon roll after reading the reviews and not disappointed. Really lovely fluffy sourdough roll and a decent amount of bacon. Lovely views too.

Amazing bacon rolls. Yup it was only 2 bacon rolls but they were that good I think they are worth a review. Arrived a 1pm and no problem getting bacon rolls that were probably the best I have had. Great rolls made the difference

Unfortunately these tea rooms were taken over in September. Last couple of summers have been good. Don’t bother stale cake, froth instead of coffee and couldn’t care attitude. Obviously, relying on tourists who aren’t going to come back not locals

We checked the cafe opening times, walked for over an hour to get here arriving at lunch time intending to eat then see the castle and found the cafe was closed. We were so hungry we just left without seeing the castle.

Had to send first flat white coffee back basically a weak coffee with a lot of froth , replacement no better and stale Brownie and not an apology insight would agree with a previous reviewer re attitude of staff member
