Taylor's Restaurant
8 The Quay, DartmouthWe came here for dinner on New Years eve with friends visiting from Canada. Scallops and King Prawns to start followed by Pea and Mint soup. For main course Roast loin of Venison (fabulous) and for pudding I had Apricot Sponge pudding and my wife had the Chocolate Ganache. All just delightful. A super friendly atmosphere and the owner, Pauline Shapland, came and chatted and invited us to try out the restaurants NYE quiz. We had a real laugh going through the questions and writing down the teams answer for each and then handed it to Pauline who is going to check our answers and give a prize to the best team score. Come on Pauline you know it's us! If you can get a window seat the view is incredible because it's on the first floor and looks right over the harbour. We were staying on The Quay anyway so parking was not an issue but parking is at a premium sometimes here.

Vinos Pizzaria
37 Victoria Pl, DartmouthVinos Pizza is very good most of the time but not always, we have found that some evenings we order, it is exceptionally good but others, not so,I don't know if they have different cooks on different evenings but sometimes we have been disappointed and it can be very greasy and salty, and other times it has been cooked to perfection and is a fantastic meal. Their salad is very good and their kebab meat is always good and they do give you a very good portion. Once again, sometimes their chips are amazing, and other times, they can all be overcooked and hard, and very greasy, also you must tell them not to salt them, otherwise they put far too much on.Food delivery in Dartmouth is a bit sparse, and I think they must get quite busy, and maybe this effects how the food is sometimes. They are always extremely friendly and delivery is very quick. Like everything these days, there has been an increase in prices and when it's not so good, it's disappointing because it's not cheap, but as I say, sometimes it's very good, but it can be very hit and miss.Parking: You can normally park outside the shop or very close by.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance isn't exceptionally big and It is very small inside and there is not a lot of room to go in a wheelchair and seating is very limited, but I'm sure they would bring your food out for you if you were ordering take away, they are very helpful and very friendly, and the counter is not that far from the doorway, if you found it to difficult to manoeuvre inside.

Wheelhouse
7 Fairfax Pl, DartmouthI was looking for a light lunch, but passed this excellent looking chippy and was magnetically drawn towards the wonderful aromas coming out of the door.I was pleased I went in: my haddock and chips were freshly cooked. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The fish batter was quite light and very crispy. The fish, as would be expected in Dartmouth, was very fresh.A delicious “light lunch”!

Bespoke
1B Browns Hill, DartmouthFantastic little coffee shop. I very much enjoyed my maple cinnamon latte which to my delight used actual maple syrup. I used to be a Barista for 6 years and it's rare I find a coffee shop that knows what they're doing. It was great to see that today's barista, properly purged the steam arm, properly cleaned the basket of the group handle and properly tamped the ground coffee. Highly recommend.

The Deli at Dartmouth
22 Duke St, DartmouthFabulous deli with a nice range of cheeses including many local ones. We made up a yummy lunch of cheeses, salads and vegetarian savoury rolls (kale / sweet potato). Not the cheapest place but top quality. I hope we didn't annoy the owner too much spending ages trying to decide on cheese!

The Crab Shell
1 Raleigh St, DartmouthBest sandwiches on the freshest granary bread I've tasted. We had hot smoked salmon with dill mayonnaise and thick cut ham with mustard and rocket. Delicious. This tiny takeaway operates from a shop window just down a side street. I was on my way to get a supermarket lunch when I spotted this. Highly recommended.

4a Smith St, DartmouthFantastic little place for brunch, Simon was very welcoming and polite, the restaurant is cosy but very charming. They have a good selection of brunch options, alot more variety than most places. The food was delivered fast and was very tasty, perfectly hooked eggs, crispy hash and all really well seasoned, the coffee is also extremely nice and they offer vegan milk alternatives. Would recommend booking though as we got the last available table!Vegetarian options: Various vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: Very good with dietary requirements, the entire back of the menu explains everything

Kaywana Hall Ltd
Kaywana Hall, Higher Contour Rd, Kingswear, DartmouthMy husband and I spent our 39th wedding anniversary at Kawana Hall and it didn’t disappoint. Tony and Gordon are great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The suites are spacious and light, beautifully decorated and the bed and bedding of the highest quality - ensuring a perfect night’s sleep. What made the stay so memorable was all the little extras - jars of jelly beans, cookies, handmade fudge, enormous choice of beverages, lovely toiletries, glossy magazines, books - I could go on and on. The pool area surrounded by stunning planting and woodland creates a peaceful spot to relax in the sun, take a dip or indulge in a slice of Gordon’s homemade cake of the day with a pot a tea. Oh! And the breakfast was superb. Credit to both Gordon and Tony on making this such a special place. We will definitely be returning. Alison and Michael

Dolium
7 Fore St, Kingswear, DartmouthWe been in a few times and it’s always a good atmosphere- there’s a great selection of wines and really tasty Italian meat and cheese tapas. Anthony always makes us feel really welcome and often suggests new wines for us to try. There’s also draught beers and cider now. It’s a fab place for a relaxing drink and bite to eat.

Steam Packet Inn
Fore St, Kingswear, DartmouthWhat an amazing place, my wife and I absolutely fell in love with this on our stay in Kingswear. The food was consistently excellent even for picky bits to have with a drink or three. The pizzas are superb and the beers are well kept. Special mention had to be made for the staff who were always busy and rushed off their feet but were always friendly and helpful and happy to chat. You felt like a valued customer not just another tourist passing through. The seating is lovely and cosy inside with more of a restaurant feel upstairs and then the upper outdoor seating area is perfect in the sun. A real gem which has been lovingly upgraded and is a perfect stopover for a beer with spectacular views of the marina, the steam railway and over towards Dartmouth.Don't pass this by, it is a very special spot!

Jenny Koo’s Kitchen
Unit 15, The Old Market, Square, DartmouthVisited twice during a two night stay in Dartmouth. A friend had recommended this place for the asian specials and we met here for one of my visits. It’s such a cute little place in the market place. Outside seating but absolutely fine in winter as blankets and heaters provided as well a being surrounded by the large outdoor screening to keep you cosy! They even put down a blanket for my dog so he didn’t get chilly - love that! Both visits the waitress was very friendly and helpful. Jenny too is so lovely and so passionate about food! Menu of breakfasts and lunches as well as cakes etc but the specials was what I was excited for and they didn’t disappoint! My first visit I have turmeric chicken with rice and broth and my second was laksa noodles. Both were sooooo delicious! Jenny also sells some of her homemade sauces and pickles etc which I bought a couple of and can say they are also delicious! Tried one of her chorizo sausage rolls too - yum! Didn’t try any cakes etc but all looked delicious. This is a firm favourites of mine now whenever I visit Dartmouth and I can’t wait to go back! Go here and try everything but particular the Asian specials - wonderful!
