The food here was incredible and the service was impeccable! We had the a la carte menu, everything we had was amazing but the scallops to start were a show stopper. Very nice and reasonably priced drinks were recommended by the staff who were very knowledgeable.

Visited The Angel a few years ago and we were excited to return but, this time, something just didn’t hit the mark. The best way to explain it is that I just don’t think I (we - myself and my husband) fit into the clientele-type they’re appealing too - which is totally fine.

The oddest thing for me was the music - odd pop songs played classical style (my worst musical nightmare but, hey, that’s just my preference). Decor seems old-style - not old or worn, just not vibrant. Service was fine. Food was largely good - especially the salmon, the duck and the ‘all white’ dessert. Good wine selection too. Others are going to love this place but, for me, it’s just lacking in vibrancy and punch. And when you’re spending serious money on a taster menu, I think it needs both of these things.

Oh wow, what a weekend we've had for our 20th wedding anniversary. We stayed in Angel 1 apartment above the restaurant which is absolutely stunning with fantastic views of the Dart. Then dinner at the Angel on Saturday night. Tasting menu was delicious, the wine pairings great fun as we joked with the sommelier over choices and the service was fantastic with Ellie helping with bringing dishes to the table which gave us the opportunity for a quick chat. Then the next day breakfast at the Embankment, the sister restaurant next door which was also great. Can't recommend enough.

Wanted to visit for ages and it didn't disappoint. Fab set Sunday menu with choices and reasonably priced. Calm elegant atmosphere, great service and of course delicious meal.

PhenomenalI had the pleasure of dining at The Angel for our wedding anniversary and was blown away by both the food and service. Elly wasn’t chefing on this particular evening, but you would never know. She has trained her staff to perfection! From the moment we were greeted and through every course, I was amazed. I’m not one to typically leave a review, but people need to know how phenomenal this dining experience was!We had the tasting menu with wine flight and I cannot sing its praises enough! I am not a salmon fan and I was happy to miss that particular course but the chef found another fish for me to have so I didn’t miss out. I was not disappointed by any of the courses and looked forward to each one; my mouth was singing with flavours. Elly has such a way with mixing things you wouldn’t think of that just blend perfectly, such as the cucumber, lime and white chocolate – wholly moly was that good!If you’re ever in Dartmouth or surrounding area, The Angel is definitely a place not to be missed!

We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every single dish. Elly was kind enough to let us swap the duck liver course for scallop. Our favourite dish was the sea bass, with the lamb loin a close second. The service was friendly and attentive. They do a lunch deal which looks like excellent value. Lovely location, and if you get a window seat you can see all the activity going on in the harbour. If you call ahead you may be able to get a private parking spot for £10, if not, it’s worth allowing a bit of extra time to find one- there are spots where you can get 2 hours for free, but if you are having the tasting menu you may want more time. The espresso was excellent quality as were the petit fours.

Many thanks to Ellie and her team for the delicious birthday lunch! The new menu du jour option was a bargain we couldn’t pass up. Everything was delicious as well as beautiful. The starter Gougères were “to die for"; we just wish there had been four per couple; it’s difficult to share three. The English sparkling rosé was particularly good. We look forward to coming again!

Fantastic restaurant with delicious, beautifully presented food. Flavours were clean and fresh. We heard about The Angel from watching Great British Menu and knew we wanted to check out Elly’s cooking when we were next around Dartmouth. We had the 3-course lunch menu, and had the fish options which were interesting and perfectly cooked. Recommended a surprising wine which went perfectly with the food. Very flexible with dietary requirements. Attentive and professional service. Would recommend!

Nice experience and good food. The Data reception in Dartmouth is poor at best sooo ..... I was very very disappointed when my son asked to log onto The Angel WiFi and they wouldn't allow him to.Doesn't take much to ruin a decent evening out.Food & drinks: Food was very good, not cheap but worth it due to quality.
