Called here today (29 Oct) for lunch. Me and my daughter had a toasted sandwich each. This came with chips and salad, my daughter however had an added extra. A live catapillar!! squirming about on her salad. The lady came to collect the plates so we told her about it and showed her. She just said oh sorry, the salad is washed before being served! Well obviously not well enough. So, if you have salad with anything, check it thoroughly.

This place hosted 10 of us for a Baby Shower celebration and meal, nothing was too much trouble. One lady helped my friend set up decorations and the cakes (including confetti ?). Food was delicious and I’m a super fussy eater but they had more than a couple options that I liked, they catered for the vegetarian in our party and for my friend with soya and dairy allergies. Afterwards we offered to clean up our mess but nothing was too much trouble again, they cleared everything even the confetti explosions from the kids playing. Definitely recommend and will be back ??

Just came back from a longweekend at Dawlish with my partner and 3 dogs, we visited the Boathouse for breakfast and dinner twice and I gotta say this place is perfect. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It's nice when you've been somewhere and go again for the staff go out of their way to come say hello and show that they value your custom. The food was delicious and atmosphere was excellent, we had some friends over for one of the evenings so we all dined there and had a great night. We want to say a huge thank you to the staff at the Boathouse for making our weekend getaway so memorable. Next time we're in Dawlish we will be back to this amazing place. Been here before and it wasn't bad but it was very pricey. Came here again and after ordering the boathouse salad we left very unimpressed. The potatoes that my partner and I had in our salad were rock hard and inedible. Definitely won't be going there again.

Booked for 20.45 then told no food and we shouldn’t have been able to book a table. All food brought at once, wait staff rude and obnoxious. All food cold and chefs have already left so no one to answer for it.In all fairness manager very good and refunded us but we will never come here again.Incredibly disappointed as it was a meal out for my girlfriends dads birthday and we’re not from the area.Avoid.

i came here with a friend of mine from the great land of south africa. he told me the food was very good and similar to his at home. i was excited. looking on the menu, none of the food was south african cuisine except for maybe the moving mountains burger. once given the moving mountains burger i was disappointed. totally not south african. ricky my friend, agreed reluctantly. we didn’t eat a bite. severely disappointed we decided to drown our sorrows in a carling pitcher. i think the pitcher had a hole in it as it disappeared very quickly ? all i’m saying, to those who are disappointed with the boathouse food, i recommend going to the bar and drinking your disappointment away. it numbs the pain of bad food. (the bangers and mash was good- says ricky. very south african) thanks a lot the boat house tavern and grill, dawlish warren. my wallet now has hole in it. lots of love andy rodger.

We Ordered fish finger sandwiches for lunch, it was tasteless, grey in colour on the in-side, it appeared to be the cheapest fish fingers they could find. This is from an establishment that is right on the waterfront. I expected decent fresh fish or at the least good quality fish fingers. Very disappointed with the meal, and at over £9 each it seems like profit is their main priority. We certainly won’t be ordering there again. Alan & Heather.
