Possibly the best frontage I’ve seen, in a Wetherspoon pub, thus far. After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit reticent in visiting here, but I was pleasantly surprised! If some think this is bad, then go to the one in Leatherhead. On the contrary - staff were friendly and fastidious. Clientele was very diverse - from early 20 something women, to families with kids, and elderly groups. Nice area by the fire.
Consistently good Wetherspoons, if you’re after fine dining and silver service you obviously will be disappointed but value for money and friendly bar staff make for a worthwhile visit.

Been to a few, not so great, Wetherspoons in the last couple of years but The Powder Monkey is spot on. Spent a few days in Exmouth before Christmas and had a breakfast, lunch time snacks and pre-dinner drinks. The service from everyone was excellent, no-one shirking. Well behaved customers, didn't even see the usual 9am wide eyes cider drinkers! Thoroughly recommend.
