“Great little old pub in fantastic location within walking distance to the best beach. Pretty and well kept gargen. Lovely food. Updated again after a recent visit; remains a 5 star pub in all aspects. Love it here. One of the best pubs I've been to. Sunday lunches are outstanding value, the food is delicious and the staff are always cheerful and helpful no matter how busy they are.”

“We booked in for a brekkie one morning over half term; a really fab location right on the beach. Service was great and food was delicious. Recommended.
Food and drinks: Absolutely delicious and the service was great”

“If you're interested in how a good pub was 50 years (and more) ago and still is now this is where to come. Personal family ownership. Own home feel (hosts live here). Idiosyncratic. Truly great beer. A very nice salmon sandwich, pasty, bar snack. Tip: Atmosphere clue - a huge local sing song of carols happens every Christmas Day in the car park. Tip. Treat specially brewed 'Norman's' with respect. 7%+. Tip: Accessibility is poor. Steps. Narrow doors. Outside loos. If your mobility is limited take an outside table in the summer or try The Passage (other side of Topsham by the Exe) year round.”

“A great place for good, honest food. The quality of the steak was a pleasant surprise. I would certainly visit again.”

“The beer was good, the service however wasn't. Picked up a menu at the bar and went to sit outside in the sunshine, a small food counter to the side of the front door was unable to take our order, went to the bar to be told a waitress would take our order at our table, then to be told by a member of staff I had to use a QR code. Very slow wifi speed, No-one from the pub appeared the least bit interested to take our food order.in the end I went to another screen and placed my order, all well and good if the pub was busy. It wasn't, a shame, because it's a nice pub with fond memories”

“Popular venue in prime spot waterfront Kingsbridge, food from breakfast until 9pm ( I would have liked it later, at least something simple- a 6 hour drive to get to a campsite and walk into town centre for food to be told only takeaway shops are open was a disheartening start to my break, being used to later hours in the city, and it is high season guys? Left to have a fried chicken and chips in the tent, not a great experience- but the quality was better than expected! Or was I simply very hungry haha. Anyway, well done the chicken takeaway it saved a long day from disaster. ?”

“We walked past and popped in for a drink in the evening. We loved the atmosphere and the service was very welcoming. We really enjoyed the mead beers made on site. We ended up staying for dinner which was so tasty. My husband had a burger and I had the Gnocchi with chilli and samphire. We both loved the food, and I can not think of a meal I have enjoyed more. Thanks Jamie and Ian for these amazing flavours. We are really looking forward to our next visit to try more of the menu and guest beers.”
