Looks like a lovely place traditional old pub menu looks good so we decided to eat here. We ordered two burgers it wasn’t particularly busy! we waited over an hour ,another table left because they had waited so long. We would have also left but we had already waited so long and were so hungry ! I asked for no onion rings on the burgers due to an allergy and one came with them . The chicken burger was nice and the beef burger was clearly frozen out of a box not homemade and was so dry. The guy on the bar didn’t seem bothered he didn’t apologise for the wait nor did he ask how our food was, he was more interested in watching the rugby on the tv really disappointed

We spent one week in Lynmouth and were staying near the Village in. The staff were very friendly and the bar has a great choice of drinks with some recommendations from the bar staff. We also has food on a couple of occasions. Great quality for the price and huge portions. Also very dog friendly.Would visit again when we are next in the area!

Great trip to the Village Inn. Landlord very friendly and brought out a box of toys for the kids. Lovely drinks and excellent atmosphere. We'll be back!

Awful pub experience. Immediate bad smell when you walk through the door and gets even worse as you make your way in. Strong smell of toilet/piss. Booked for food on New Year’s Day but could barely stomach a 1/2 pint.Shoved in the back corner with a bunch of storage boxes, table was filthy and chairs covered in food.Barman left mid Guinness which did make me laugh though.

On a cold quiet January day we were looking for some gluten free food and came across the Village Inn. A number of gluten free options and reasonably priced.

Love this place, just a normal pub that serves honest fare at a reasonable price, and the food is excellent. Great range of beers, when we visit Lynmouth we always make our way to the Village. Don't change, we like you just as you are.

Stopped here for a meal, one of the best I have had. Steak and Ale Pie was amazing with tender meat and a rich gravy. Easy to walk past this place in Lynmouth but it’s well worth a stop if you are visiting as the food is amazing.

The worst food I've ever been served, even picturing it 3 weeks on makes my appetite disappear, so I have to thank them for a great new dieting technique at least. How someone can make garlic bread utterly inedible is beyond me.And to top it off the service was slow and a little bit unhinged. Think Basil Fawlty crossed with Wurzel Gummidge...

Nice pub with a cosy non tacky tourististy depth ⚡️Great food - I mean great taste and fantastic value so has to be tried My mother came and recommend the vegetarian dish which as a 60 year vege she knows food when she sees (tastes) it But the steak and ale pie and also the haddock won us over - and seriously impressed us Lynmouth is great But finding something down to Earth in terms of price and commodity isn’t a natural I whole heartily recommend it ? Would like more local Beers tho (but this is a complaint t of all lynmouth pubs we’ve ‘do e’sp far!) £12.95 for a fabulous dinner Seriously Wow

We had a warm friendly welcome at the Village Inn well positioned in the centre of Lynmouth. The menu is down to earth pub food plus a daily specials board. I had slow cooked brisket with broccoli bubble and squeak - a vast chunk of meat (delicious) but which was just too much for me, hb had ham eggs, chips and peas which he couldn't finish either as the portions were very generous! There are some vegan options. Recommended- we will definitely go again!
