Restaurants in Lynton
The Old Bank
Church Steps, LyntonFantastic little restaurant in the middle of Lyton. Great atmosphere, really good and friendly service and fantastic food! Would not be out of place in London or anywhere else. Steaks were superb, but other options looked great as well. Will definitely be back if I'm in Lynton again. HIGHLY recommended, loved it!

The Spicy Mare
9 Queen St, LyntonI would be surprised if there's better Indian food to be found in the South-West.For so many places, the Indian-ness is like a filter put over pulled-together food. At The Spicy Mare it is a true character that runs through the whole of the dish. Whatever is available when you go you can be sure of deeply-felt, subtly-flavoured, rich and extremely wholesome food at incredible value.Deserves to be a local legend. I went six months ago and was instantly transported back to the best of the food I had when I lived in India (a small place in Goa, since you didn't ask). Just now I opened a jar of The Spicy Mare's absolutely polished and perfect Lime Pickle. I live in Philadelphia, but I found myself mysteriously transported back to, of all places, Lynton.Go.

The Vanilla Pod
10 Queen St, LyntonLovely atmosphere. Spaciously set out dining area which gave the extra intimacy. I hate restaurants which cram customers in ! The meal was unhurried. All the orders came in on time and similarly drinks also. We ate different meals but both arrived together with all the components. I’d eat there most weekends if I lived locally. Highly recommended ! You won’t be disappointed cпасибо

The Exmoor Escape
3 Lee Rd, LyntonGregg and Jacqui are lovely owners who made us feel so welcome. Breakfasts were simply delicious, our room (Deepdene) was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean (as was the en-suite) and the bed very comfortable. An added bonus was private parking although there was plenty of safe and well lit on-street parking outside the property too. We cannot wait to return for another stay next year.
